Actually I am not so sure, I just recall back what I read.. I read back a few version of hammy thread before I actually got one LOL..

Some they scare the hammy dun recognise the tank mate then will start to fight when place new bedding. Since robo is the most socialable breed, maybe different hmm tongue.gif

so alex bathing sand consider as non-clumping??

Added on October 1, 2008, 4:23 am
i got 2 robo and i change the entire bedding+clean the cage and also give then sand bath all in the same day

is tat ok in the long run?
*
i think the issue about clumping and none clumping is mainly for the toilet sand, not the bath sand. plus, i've never seen how does "clumping" looks like so can't really say.

i dont see the problem in changing to fresh bedding. the hamster will sniff sniff around because everything smells new but then after a while it gets settled in

I think put back a little old bedding is just for the hamster to recognise their tank-mate if the tank got more then one hammy. If the hammy own the entire tank, just use all new one lor..

okok...will spare some old put back in~~~

I have chat up with a forumers here about Habitrial.

He says that Habitrial product is not mean for Syrians , so in this case , I'm might going for Zoozone/2.
But Zoozone doesn't looks great , I'm not sure if I should proceed to purchase the Ovo loft. sad.gif

Please give your opinions here , sifu's.
*
For me, I'll go for ZooZone as it is better for the hamster and it's cheaper than the Ovo loaf. Then save the money to get a good wheel and it is a NEED for hamsters.

QUOTE(Andy0625 @ Sep 30 2008, 09:34 PM)
I will scout around in Ipoh for the ZooZone , and if that zoozone is not available in Ipoh area , Do you mind/anyone here mind help me out to get it ?
I'll cover for the courier cost for sure.  smile.gif
*
Don't think you can get that in Ipoh as I never see any there when we do pet shops hunting. Do not think I'll be going back to Ipoh in this month.

QUOTE(kelvin_faye @ Oct 1 2008, 12:06 AM)
Can get in Petshack or garage sales.. Try there ya.. Me also wana find a zoozone 2.. As spare.. hehe tongue.gif

ZooZone no more in production already, you gotta wait for the new designs maybe, for the time being, save your money first lor.

It's not about clumping or non-clumping. It's totally 2 different thing la. Toilet sand/liter sand is for them to pee and poo inside, bathing sand / ALEX bath sand is for them to clean and remove excess oil from their fur. How can 2 different thing come to be the same conclusion? Doesn't matter for the bathing sand whether it's clumping or non clumping. Please make your mind clear about the product before make yourself worried.

the thing now is...nezumitaro said its ok for hamsters to eat a lil sand...toilet or bath sand, when they're really clueless about it. But as long as its non-clumping only. How true this is, I dunno...but its the only advice we have. Now I've tried putting a drop of water onto the sample sand and it really did "clump"...and it doesn't look like anything you want your hamster to be eating, or biting.

Then I will suggest you to buy the 2ft guppy tank cos Ipoh is not easy to get hamster supplies. ZooZone is not easy to get in KL now as there's not much stock left after Hagen stop the production of ZooZone series. Not much people from Ipoh in here even you willing to pay for the courier service as it is a heavy and big cage. It is about 3ft x 2ft x 1.5ft (estimation measurements). If by pos or courier service, the service fees maybe more expensive than the cage itself. Too bad I just came back from Ipoh last week and not plan to go back in this month.

I check in Poslaju rates , it's only Rm34.00 for 7kgs. Unless they charge for Volumetric weight.
If I couldn't find Zoozone , I'll just settle down on Crittertrail then and maybe get a winter white instead.
Sigh..

Bean's fur is balding again, even with bathing sand.

Maybe it's because the wheel gets dirty very quickly >_<

Hi there,

Thank you for your kindness on helping me out. I'm interested with V1 - Pink/Turquoise or V2 - White/Grey. If there's V1 pink available , I think I'll go for V1 as the colors is more vibrant. But I need to confirm the courier charges is charging on Volumetic weight or Normal Parcel weight. I really hope you're free to a few shops to do your daily groceries shopping and help me along to hunt for the case.

Please let me know further. biggrin.gif
Andy.
