QUOTE(pandaeyes @ Nov 24 2008, 12:34 PM) I am currently using Nokia Map 2.0 with voice navigation. I never use nokia map since the day i bought my N81 and N82. I've been navigating fine with 2.0 but ever since I updated nokia maps recently, i can't navigate offline. I am stuck at the calculating route stage. However, I could navigate if i am online using A-GPS. A-GPS sucks since our gprs is way too slow to hold on to a constant route. I also realize voice navigation is not working correctly. Anyone with the same problem? Anyway of me reverting back to the old map? I have been using garmin and it works great. What you can do now is remove all the map and reinstall the map. When u update that time did u remove it in the first place? |

I tried recording with garmin b4. Something like that, dotted line and contains info like speed, distance etc~ |

QUOTE(ahmadpi @ Nov 25 2008, 12:10 PM) Yup. You can buy GPS adapter for PSP .. the price around 200-300 like that I think. Can search garage sale, I saw few people selling the adapter that day. There isnt any Malaysia map for PSP unless using homebrew google map with cache, but that will be troublesome. Here's the link: GPS for PSP |

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 26 2008, 12:01 AM) Yes.. I only hunt for roads not in the latest maps Oh, another thing is, u do all experience this?BTW, the info in racechrono is more than what available via Garmin... When I am outside, when I turn on my garmin, I look at the signal. I can see many bars of signal and the signal is quite high, but then it do not have color in it, just blank bar. If the bar got color means signal locked already. I was wondering, why my phone GPS can detect so many signal and strong signal but cannot lock with them. |

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 26 2008, 09:51 AM) Not sure what u mean by getting full bars but no colour/signal....but for sure when starting, the bar will turn from red (1-2 bars) to green (3-5bars). If totally no signal it will be blank. I mean thisIf no signal u can't navigate what..if u can navigate for sure there's signal... ![]() Sometimes it show a lot but not connected. If connected, the bar will be blue color inside. But sometimes it takes very long to lock although can detect many satelite QUOTE(hypermount @ Nov 26 2008, 09:58 AM) My N78 locks very fast from startup even from inside house/room or a moving car - 3 to 5 bars....I don't think a dedicated GPSr can do any better than this. QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 26 2008, 12:01 PM) Oh, u mean that globe chart...Normal-lah..Even in Garmin QUe or even those mother of GPS (Like Garmin 60Csx) also like that...I will take time to acquire satelites and after the signal getting stronger, the colour change to stable. Oh, okok so its normal lol I thought something is wrongHypermount, hehe, H/phone esp N78 acquisition of satelites are slow, not sure why your unit so fast but normally between 3-5 or even 10min!! However tested sharkteef N79 and it's really fast..BTW, inside house mana ada satelite signal unless u using the signal based on AGPS nearest to GSM tower?? Actually it depends u know, i got a friend his N82 can acquire faster satelite signal than my phone, i dont know why. Both of us on garmin at the same time and his phone lock satelite around 30 second, while mine takes up to minutes. Tested a few times already. Using HOLUX M-1000 I can get signal at home in 5 seconds around 10 feet close to the windows. More than 10 feet than a little tough. Using my phone is really really difficult. Anyway, dedicated GPS or Bluetooth GPS receiver is better than GPS built-in in phone, unless they are using better chip or those chip used in GPSr and put it in phone, then only can compete with dedicated GPS. |

QUOTE(edkiasu @ Nov 26 2008, 09:50 PM) Hi, i have few questions here.. 1. Select the signal bar on top left corner, then u will see GPS information, then press middle button again.1.How do i suppose to get into here--> to view this page huh??2.Im using Garmin XT 5.0 and i think its "europe garmin" cuz i saw it before loading the map at center of the screen, then now it running at m/h instead of km/h.. I not really used to m/h, is that possible for me to change to km/h format? 3.When i save a location, it will default-ly save the location name as "My Location 01" or "My Location 02" or "My Location 03".. Is that possible to rename it a? 2. Yea because havent use ur garmin b4, therefore it will show the default location, after getting the location for the first time, it will change. you can change to km/h in tools > settings > system > distance/speed, elevation, depth > metric 3. tools > Manage my data > My locations > find the point u saved > press middle button > change name Bro, play around with garmin and get familiar with it~ |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Nov 28 2008, 11:12 AM) QUOTE(hypermount @ Nov 28 2008, 01:37 PM) Yes you can choose to use either map.. Erm I dont think so because we can only have a map at a timego to tools -> manage my data -> map set and click mapset - tick the one you want to use. The only way is to rename it and load either one everytime~ |

QUOTE(Mysteryz @ Dec 2 2008, 02:41 PM) Nokia Wireless GPS module LD-3W.. Anyone Know this thing?? Im Using N81 So There Is No Built In GPS Reciever.. Where Should I Get This Thing And How Much It Cost?? I suggest u buy entry level / cheaper Bluetooth GPS Receiver like Holux, they cost around RM200 and can be used with N81 with Garmin Map, I personally test it myself last time before i switch to N82 and it locks satellite faster than my current N82.Im Using Nokia Maps But Useless.. Then I Installed Google Maps And It Works Great But My Credit Drains Like Fullspeed Water Help Me Plss... Nokia Map indeed is useless though, u can use Garmin with Malsing/Malfreemap and once u get hold of GPS u will be very very happy haha~ U can follow what Stimix said by getting Garmin 10X receiver and use Garmin Software for free because it can pair with Garmin Receiver without having to buy the license. or U can buy a cheaper receiver and buy the license for Garmin Mobile XT conclusion, Garmin 10X with free Garmin Mobile XT or Cheaper receiver and have to buy Garmin Mobile XT license. QUOTE(Mysteryz @ Dec 2 2008, 09:21 PM) Anywhere, I suggest u buy online, it can be cheaper, look around in Garage Sales area, someone selling very cheap. Can consider getting 1 unit from him then install ur own *cough* *cough* garmin mobile xt. A second hand unit is quite cheap also, I sold mine @ RM150 and frankly it works really great especially the battery life~QUOTE(sharkteef @ Dec 2 2008, 09:27 PM) @stimix - i installed gmxt10 for winmo on my friends palm pro treo dunno what what else model number. There is a version of Garmin for PC that has the same interface with Garmin Mobile XT. Didnt try it though but not bad , not sure how to pair with PC lol~works fantastic. his signal lock even faster than mine. under 5 secs. accuracy - off the grid. wayyyyyy off the grid. funny thing is, when u install gmxt onto a winmo pda, i didnt know u can use it as a gmpc. remember the selection of use inbuilt or bluetooth connection in the system settings ? well i na pda u have additional 1 which is split into another 4. com4 com6 irda port and 1 other which i forgot. meaning i cna use the pda as a receiver only while hooked onto the pc and track direct using mapsos ? |
