coz the duration of my student visa is onli 1 year + 1 month (can't even attend the convo which is 4th November), I went through the Entry Clearance Correction to fix it, but the Entry Clearance Office in KL denied that this is his mistake, so I tot of extending my student visa for extra 3 months by paying 295 pound via the "Visa Extension" (a friend from China tried this, and they granted him to stay until January 2010 using his Student Visa)

Guys, since you all are talking about extension and stuff, just want to ask some advice. RIght now my visa is valid for only 3 yrs wihle my course is actually 4 yrs (long story). Anyway, if I want to extend it, I checked and found out that I need to pay minimum almost £300? That's crazy man, so I was wondering whether I can just make another fresh student visa application in Malaysia except now it's valid until I finish my program. Is it possible? I'm not paying RM 1K++ just to extend for one more year..(although it seems little compared to what I'll be spending here, but it's still money). Thanks.

all uni have their own PHD courses. It only depends what PHD are you choosing and the rank of the uni that you wanted.

For student visas? I thought the letter from Uni as proof isn't required???

You are not allow to work as full time when you are holding a student visa. No matter how hard you look into their home office website, I dont there is any link that show that you can do that. 

not while u're on a student visa u wouldnt.

what u can do is LOOK for a fulltime job, assuming u've finished studies, but still finishing off ur student visa. after u've landed the job, u will be required to change ur student visa into a working visa.

if they actually allow u to work fulltime with a part time visa, UK would be totally flooded by asians right now.

I'm with HSBC . I'll still have to get my credit report sorted out either way. (unless i use a friends debit card... but i don't want to hutang budi anyone)
I've been in the UK for 3 years. Equifax gives me a credit score of 960+ out of a possible 980. it's only the stupid electoral roll thing which stops me from getting a contract. It seems easier to get a premier credit card here than a cheapo phone contract    I still can't see the point of paying 10 pounds to correct their mistake. Explained to their agent over skype, but still no deal.

EDIT : back to the question, so are there any places offering phone contracts with minimal credit checks ? want to squeeze the most out of my pounds ... but if thats not possible, guess i'll no choice but to give my money to these scammers.

the heater at my flat will only be on for a while when it is really too cold, it is off most of the time because my flatmate from Pakistan cannot afford to pay for the bill.

Can the steam last long? normally my hot water will turn cold very fast...

only when i'm going to a dodgy, third world country . most of the time i just take the package included with STA travel.
