May I know normally how fast the refresh rate of GPS? my one about 5 seconds in HTC touch 3G

And some time the location show in map is not accurate, anybody having this problem?

5sec consider fast fix. some device took 2min to get a fix.

fix and refresh rate is different

getting a fix under 1 min is very good already. just need to update quickgps

refresh rate is when u've got a fix and just how often it scans


myself i have no idea how often it refreshes but no complaints

I'm going to get this phone on this coming Saturday, a few question to ask.

1) RM1.2k Singapore set, brand new, is it alright with the price?

2) Is there any nice and high speed microSD card which is compatible well with Touch 3G, any recommended?

3) What sort of rom is recommend to flash? Official or self cooked? (I need a stable and fast rom)

try and stay away from overseas sets. warranty will be a problem.

any microSD would work well with ur T3G. Sandisk is generally used by all.

for the 3rd question, i am in no liberty to answer that specifically as i am not a T3G user, so i do not noe which rom is good. But in general, most cooked roms are stable and sometimes even more stable than official roms. so it depends on which you want to choose

Is the warranty really that important? Is hardware issue very common for T3G? Because I used to get my o2 stealth from australia, 2 years without claiming warranty before, o2 life second hand unit, no warranty at all. Other than hardware issue, warranty consider useless because software issue can always resolve easily as long as hardware is good. Difference at least 300 between sg set and malaysia set, kind of atttractive though...

lets say incase something happens. But if you're willing to take the risk like me, then go ahead with it.

It's up to you if you want to get it. Have to state it out, because people can read your post and the replies I give you. If I did not state it out, I am sure they'll come in here asking for questions on why their overseas set can't be warrantied in Malaysia.

i've been using T3G for 3weeks and i can assure you that its stable and fast enuf, no need to flash to any custom rom.

Try surveying you price around the shops nearby you. Its quite useless if you were to travel so fast just to get a good deal for any gadget. If calculated traveling + the time spent to get there would be rather off spending a lil bit more to get it from shops near you. Getting it serviced or warrantied too would be easier.

But you too can op to search for deals in LYN itself. Baronic, maxtek and afew others are selling HTCs for a reasonable price. Contact them through their sales thread.

if the shop just around klang valley acceptable la 4 me to go there..after weeks of surveying, i found touch 3G has 2 price, 1799 & 1899..maybe somebody in this thread know better price than the 2 above, dont be shy to tell me okee..hehehe

no warez discussion here. but if u purchased your garmin, u can copy and paste entire folder into storage card, then recreate your shortcut

hm... my t3g now got that battery charging prob... the led remains at orange even after charging for long time.... turn it off, then only will it turn green...
thinking to send to service centre...
