read goldfries review on Sapphire, it is still hotter than ASUS

i use 8.10. never had problem also.

both 8.10 and 8.11 have no problem on HD4670
as long as u do not install 8.9 on it can already

A possible solution for BSOD/NO INF FOUND/INSTALLATION PROBLEMS with CATALYST 8.11

Please dont use a driver sweeper or driver cleaner

1. Disable all anti-virus programs
2. uninstall previous version of Catalyst through add & remove programs/Programs and Features
3. Reboot Pc
4. Go to device manager
5. Display adapters
6. right click uninstall (tick the box delete the driver software........) Ok
then reboot if asked to
7. make sure it says Standard VGA Graphics Adapter (if not repeat step 6 )
8. Right click Update driver software
9. Search automatically for driver software (make sure you have no internet connection)
10. If it finds a driver follow step 6 until it only finds Stander VGA Adapter
11. Go to windows explore c: \Program files\ and delete ATI & ATI Technologies
12. Reboot
13. Run cat 8.11 setup file
14. Uninstall
15. Go to c: ATI and run setup
16. Install
17. Custom (Please not the express)
18. UNTICK Catalyst Registration & World of Warcraft Free Trial
19. Then hit that install button and hold thumbs
once installed with out any problems Reboot
and you should be good to go

I uninstalled my working driver to repeat this problem and it had taken me 2h30min
To find this work around I really hope this will sort it out

how bout HIS 4670? use 2 slot cooler, price around RM340 for normal and RM350 for the oc version

Anyone have this issue with 8.11??The clock speed need to be tested before apply and rivatuner,after press apply it won't set to the clock i desire!!!Stuck forver at 700/1100

Hey guys, im curious what kind of VRM temps. u guys gotten on yer 4870?..especially those with 3rd-party coolers.

Afaik, the VRM its like the highest temps. compared to the rest like GPU, MEM and etc.

As i noticed so far i keep seeing ppl onli mention GPU temps.

just now playing gears of war..after 5 hour...suddenly the graphic lost...then come back again with distorted...guess 4850 cant handle full graphic load at 68'...is this temp very high for full load?

Used that before change to 4850. Quite good performance IMO.

what i mean is the card reach roughly 53 c when im playing "call of duty 5" under highest settings
normally less than 40 c when idle

hope this clears up abit


oh forgot to mention i manually set the fan to work at 40 % but i dunno if the fan controller is working cos i barely hear the changes of the fans noise since most of the time it is barely audible be it 100 % or 40 % ... ill monitor the fan speed my self when im free
