you mean, illegally brows.gif ?

anyway, here's FurMark for my HD3450 :

[attachmentid=754763]

IINM, 9200M GS maxed out at 800
*
Well synthetic benchmarks doesnt really matters. Both are low end GPUs so not much difference between them. nvidia supports CUDA though.

how u do ramdisk ? can share here? i cant get the freeware to do ramdisk, all nid buy one....haiz.....
my 4GB ram is wasted now....only detect 2.8GB....

using 126AU now
*
there is lots of way to get shareware version out there. i guess you should know it. If you really want to utilized all 4GB, I suggest u to get 64bit Windows.

CUDA aren't that efficient as it's proclaimed to be .. the fact that OpenGL favors Nvidia since the dawn of time, this is p4wning. and don't say it doesn't matter because someone asked me to do the FurMark. not a personal initiation
why would you want to suggest someone to get something illegally just because someone else (me) come out with better and free  idea than yours?
*
freeware version doesnt support ramdisk backup. that means when you shut off or restart the laptop, the contents will be gone. backup is important if u install software or store important files in ramdisk.

hi everyone,

i'm new to this topic jus bought my compaq cq40-125AX during early nov last year, upgrade to 4GB ddr2 800mhz ram during mid dec

my prob is the laptop state 3075 mhz ram only cry.gif

can anyone help me out with this?
*
either upgrade to 64 bit windows or you can use the unusable 1GB as RAMdisk.

QUOTE(Zibel @ Jan 11 2009, 04:54 PM)
Personally I find benchmarks useful, do you have another way to judge graphic performance that doesn't use benchmarks?

Not a bad suggestion if you've got a 64bit CPU. If you want/need to use a 32bit OS unfortunately it seems MS decided to limit most of the non-server ones to 4GB. sad.gif
*
I do find benchmarks useful but since this is a low end GPU i think it is pointless to compare peformance because not many games are playable. Of course it is better to have discrete GPU rather than intergrated one.

AMD Turion is a 64bit CPU. In fact all modern CPU supports 64bit.

At the moment with my low end GPU I am playing FC2. Sure, the GPU really doesn't do FC2 justice because I have to play 960x600 res + dx9 and low settings, but playable it is. If benchmarks for the lower end GPUs can give me some indication of what to expect at least I can make a decision based on performance albeit low performance. If I can get a higher resolution or better definition because of a 50% or more increase in performance from one GPU vs another, surely that's got to be a good thing and make the gaming experience a little better. For all those whose budgets only cover low end GPUs don't you think they should at least be able to get and idea of best performance for their money?
*
Maybe because I have a desktop I never really think of gaming with this laptop. I really hate playing games at resolution lower than native. Thats why I dont play new games on this laptop. Old games are good on native resolution though. Well, mainstream is never meant for gaming anyway, more for HD decoding and some light gaming. Even midrange GPUs like HD 3650 or GF 9600 are not enough for my needs tongue.gif

My notebook is CQ45-122TX, I got same DVD RW  Optiarc AD-7561S Can ask you where can i find the firmware to patch to regional free

Where to find Optiarc AD-7561S AH03 Region Free Patch!

THIS DRIVE HAS REGION PROTECTION
Region Info
- Region Code : Not Set
- User : 5 changes left
- Manufacturer : 4 changes left
- Status : Not Set

Can advise me where can i find firmware patch
*
Try googling around but I think firmware for notebook drives are quite rare especially those not used widely. Why do you need region free patch? Playing region protected DVDs?

Last time i use xp 32 bit and try installing the 64-bit so that i can utilized the ram but it seems that most of my software are not compatible sweat.gif  for 64 bit and i change back to the xp 32 bit. As for vista i havnt try yet, can the software design for vista 32-bit works on 64-bit one? icon_question.gif
*
Did you try downloading the latest version of the software? Most 32bit software can run on Vista 64 with WOW64(32bit emulation mode). i have no problems with most software on my desktop. XP64 bit should have the same compatibility although manufacturers stopped developing drivers for it.

im using everest, thrs cpu core voltage, gpu temp, core1 core2 temp, n cpu temp. no hdd....

or did i missed sumthin while setting everest up?
*
If u installed AMD AHCI drivers, then temp monitor will be disabled cos not supported. If u use default Vista driver then should be able to read temp. I had the same thing too. Installed AMD AHCI driver and temp monitor gone. Anyway its better to install AMD AHCI driver so NCQ is supported

hdd is kinda too big for me so swap in the 60gb as core then use the 320gb as external hdd for my media player  icon_rolleyes.gif
i use it as my desktop replacement in my office , onli word processing and browsing . nothing else so 320gb kinda waste for my usage
*
60GB maybe too small for Vista. HDD is cheap now so why not get one for storage smile.gif

Very interesting design but I doubt it will help much in cooling this model. More holes are needed for air intake IMHO.

I can't find firmware to patch to regional free, is there i can reset manufacturer to 5 changes instead of 4 changes.
I want to patch to regional free to play movie regional protected dvd.

the drive is regional protection, it cannot read after 0 changes left.

can anyone PM me where to find regional free firmware.
*
maybe you can try to extract the firmware from the drive but I dont really know how. If u cant find anything on google, Maybe u r out of luck.

How come the manufacturer can show that the cool air enter the system from the back? I'm curious. hmm.gif  Are they trying to con people?
*
The two fans suck cool air from around and blows it to the bottom of the laptop. Since there is no holes at the bottom, it doesnt really help in cooling.

If Im not mistaken max score for Windows 7 is 7.0, not 5.9 anymore. Btw, for those Windows 7 users, can u guys test all the HP Vista drivers and report back here? Win 7 Beta 1 is available from Microsoft. 32 bit version is around 2.8GB and 64bit is around 3.15GB.

CQ40-133AX can support up to how many RAMs??
heard about there is only 1 ram slot and maximum can put 2G of ram only.

i really love this model but the ram issue halt me for the decision.
*
2 rams slots with each supporting max 2GB DDR2 800. So in total 4GB of RAM supported.

bad infor from the sales person. its two slots.
i read some china forum, they installed 4GB x 2 with vista 64
*
Yeah, according to service manual max RAM supported per slot is 4GB because AMD 780G chipset can support up to 4GB per slot but I think 8GB is too much for this laptop.

how long can the CQ40-125/133AX battery last after full charge

CQ50-104AU
AMD Turion X 2  RM70 2.0Ghz
Nvidia 8200M
*
Mine can barely reach 2hrs. CQ50 have bigger screen so I guess battery life is less with bigger screen.

Hello guys, I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 into my 125AX, dual booting with Vista. Shrinked some HDD space in Vista and installed Ubuntu in it. First time using Linux but so far so good. I will try out more and update later.

Hello friends,

Planning to buy a new lappie .. budget around RM2000-2500 .. Actually what is the differnces between 125/126/133/134? and which is the best??

And what is meant by FreeDOS?? Can we upgrade to xp??  sweat.gif

Finally, what are the freebies they'll offer in shops in lowyat plaza!! Thanks  smile.gif
*
125, 126 is old model. 133 and 134 is new(faster CPU and bigger HDD). rest are same. FreeDOS means no OS pre installed 133 is Free DOS where 134 comes with Vista Premium. U can install your own OS. Vista is officially supported, and all drivers for Vista can be downloaded from HP supported. XP is not supported but u can find drivers online but some functions might not work. Linux is not supported too but I managed to install Ubuntu without any problems. As for offers in Lowyat hope other members can give their opinions here.
