err...I don't really get what you meant here
skin colour is more or less the same as nude colour
n there are similar colours like natural tan, bronze etc

A bit of catch up..

" does not come with cotton gusset so it's not as comfortable " ...

I for one strongly agree with that statement, like I wrote earlier, in Malaysia, for ladies to be able to comfortably wear pantyhose is to go for those with cotton crotch design, and skip panties altogether, or else is almost unbreathable at times going in and out of office, like going out for lunch..  in the middle of hot mid afternoon.

Like I wrote earlier..
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/785367/+285#

Sad thing is, many local brand sold do not come with those design even to cater for tropic climate..

have you tried the summer tights (usually less than 10d) sold in other countries?
i think those are quite popular now considering it's summer in UK, european countries etc

legging are usually thicker and without the part covering the foot and sometimes can be worn as pants with long top
tights are pantyhose for the people in UK (sheer tights, opaque tights, fashion tights etc)
the generalization is - pantyhose is defined as something sheerer, while tights is something above 40d (more opaque)

it's not sheer then it should be something similar to skating tights right?
I think i've seen it in M'sia - skin coloured dancing tights by su-soku. Should be able to find'em in Jusco or other departmental store.

Yes there are hipster tights aka low waist tights, but hipster+skin colour+opaque are harder to find though. An example is

Well, I think if you really want it, you might wanna check out online store and ask LYN members who are doing UK/US forwarding serivces to get it for you
The price is much more worth it compared to getting it locally where the quality is not as good unless u're going to Isetan or Marks & Spencer (the only places in M'sia selling good hosiery that I can think of)

Depends on what u want I suppose. Different types have different prices.
It's not cheaper, but for that price u're paying, u're getting something much more better.
And there's no free sizes, which is a good thing. Try looking around for size chart to see which category do u fit in.
Hmmm..i'm not entirely sure about shops but I'm pretty sure places like walmart will have brands like Leggs, Hanes (US brands) in their hosiery section.

Minchinini,

For Danskin stuff, they used to have a store near Gilroy premium outlet, California.. but recently did not see it listed there, but while in US, she can always order them online . try .. danskin.com. I have not tried them before.

If you are looking for pantyhose, many factory outlet has this Brand that goes by "Legg's Hanes Bali Playtex", you can buy them in bulk for some slightly imperfect quality (6 pairs).. I like Legg's and Hanes..the support range. Also discounted too at times.

Walmart do carry some Danskin clothing (exercise) but I never check out if they have dance tights there.

In US tights usually refers to pantyhose made of thicker material.. or opaque (not sheer).

Hope my info. still serves right cos I have not been there a few years..

evilhomura89,

I have not try those summer tights, usually support hosiery cannot be too thin though.. tears easily.
I bought a pair of opaque before from one the shops, but I did not see cotton crotch design on it.

minchinini,

I hope you managed to find what is comfortable , and fit, never give up until you find the right one..

@kirashin - skin color hose with shorts.. ? I for one agreed that it can be plain sexy at times, else Hooters will not attract that many male customers.. right

You meant soxworld/sawks avenue?
Well, u probably can ask the salesperson to open the packet for inspection to check the features.

My gf started wearing hosiery whenever she's wearing dress or skirt that are short to reduce the 'exposure'. smile.gif
But she has sensitive skin thus she felt very itchy with certain types of tights, I'm not sure what causes the itchiness but I'm thinking of getting her something that won't trigger the itchiness, any suggestion?
And she likes the 5-toed tights that can be worn with slippers but it's hard to get it.

Btw, she thinks it's weird to wear tights with shorts. She doesn't like the idea of having something in between her legs twice, ie, tights n shorts.

Well, the sample the sales lady shown me has nice crotch design , but after I got home and torn open the packages (much later when I wanted to wear), I noticed it did not have a crotch design.. a bit annoyed.

Allergic reaction, you might to wash it first before starts wearing, some treated with chemical and dye, those stuff certainly can bring on itch for sensitive skin.

anyway, I met a lady flying from s'pore a few weeks back, have some interesting tale to tell, will write later..

(updated--)
anyway, a bit of break from my hectic works..

a few weeks ago, i took a flight from s'pore that was quite full . So happen that i got the last row of seat. Ths couple , around late 40s happened to be seated next to me. Funny part was, I was initially seated between them, because they were on connecting flight on standby to take up the flight I was in , their actual flight was much later . The wife willingly gave me aisle seat so that she could be seated next to her husband at window side.

I was in s'pore for a week long meeting with a customer, as usual , I decided to slip off my formal working suit before flying off with something more comfortable.. a pair of knee length shorts with oversize t-shirt, a pair of ankle socks with casual canvas . As for this lady, she was wearing long waist hugging dress , almost below knee, interestingly , with sun tan color pantyhose. She was pretty good shape for her age, my guess was mid to late 40s..

anyway , so a conversation started when she complimented about the sheer and glossy look of the pantyhose I was wearing and asked me if it was branded and expensive . I told her it was a normal US brand (Hanes) not too expensive . She asked me if I was involved in performance works like dancing or on the way to dance class after the flight. I politely told her that it was support hose and part of my formal working clothes.
Then she told me it's rare to find ladies that appreciate pantyhose these days, including her own two daughters that are teenagers , prefer to go bare legs even going to formal functions like wedding or gatherings.

She told me, being 20s durin her time in 80 and early 90s, pantyhose was part of daily dress, even she and her husband ran their own business (a wholesaler), when she was teenager, she could not even wait but wanting to be grown up , to wear nice dresses, to make up , to slip into a pair of pantyhose and high heel to graduate into womanhood, to hang out late..

She explained to me the reason why she asked me if I was a dancer because usually only dancers are used to wear hose around. She even told me she had been attending aerobic dance classes since her 20s , and never missed it for a week despite many such classes come and go , in 80-90s, pantyhose was usually integral part of aerobic dance wear.

Then I asked her if she still wear hose to dance class these days, she told me she still wears them all them, but main difference is, she does not wear those single piece leotard anymore (like swimsuit) , but instead opted for two piece bra top and shorts that made it easier to visit loo , and pantyhose usually keeps her leg warm at all time. She grumbled young ladies of today hardly want to do physical exercise , for her , doing exercise actually kept her young.

Just before we parted, she asked me to take a guess her age, I tried to be polite by saying around 45, but she told me she was coming to 51.. amazing..

i found this nostalgic video of 80-90s..

maysee, try opening the package before leaving the shop to check if everything's fine cause at least if there's something wrong or not the one you wanted, you can exchange or return it

well, she did washed them before having them on
and the itch still persists..not sure if it's the material or quality of hosiery

the mentality that hosiery (esp nude/suntan hosiery) are for aunties is still there
the black opaque tights are more popular among young girls, well i hope the trend doesn't die off

on top of getting a good quality hosiery ,which is usually more expensive, make sure your nail is well trimmed and no sharp edges, you need to remove all sharp jewelry too.

I hope you have a nice hose wearing experience. If you are extra tall or very petite , do check out the size chart before buying, for those hosiery with size, my experience is exact or one size above. Undersized can cause the hose to tear/run prematurely. Oversize can cause it drop half way through the day.. either way is not fun as you have to keep worrying about them .( I am wearing them all day long for work , usually for support and some compression effect to relief ache at the end of day) .

good experience can be beneficial, comfortable and maybe sensual at times.. poor experience will put you off wearing them again.

If you are new to this thread, I did a lengthy write up before here, if you have any nice practices to share , we certainly welcome your opinion..
