"Kinda feeling strange, two guys talking about hosiery."

Well, carry on, or you can always PM each other if things get too intimate .. smile.gif

This is what freedom of expression is all about. As I am reading it, I am feeling my knowledge on pantyhose brand was actually very very limited ..

Fogal, Gerbe,Wolford M&S..

I guess it is a bit of tragic too , for me, as a lady actually knew less about what is available out there for me . My experience from start was not a nice one, just that circumstances made me went around looking hard and the actually improved my experience.

Maybe this is an opportunity for guys too, if your lady friend/wife is showing sign of hating pantyhose, perhaps you can take note of the brand and surprise her as a gift. As for ladies, try a few pair nicer quality pantyhose , your perception about pantyhose will change drastically.

As for gnoelhot & evilhumora, how about the experience on those brand designed for man, like comfilon that you mentioned early ? Care to let the ladies know about the difference of male pantyhose ? We love to know too.. wink.gif

The RHT usually gives a better lower leg support too. At 120D, I think this pair will last 3 months of hard wearing smile.gif.

Hi to all of you, it's been long time I didn't visit to this topic, seem like recently this topic is going quite fast and a lot of people involve at here. Hi maysee82, nice to meet you, I also wearing pantyhose daily and even my company didn't require us to wear it, but i feel uncomfortable when going bare legs without puting any hose, so whenerver I go out with skirt or short pants, pantyhose is a must for me. As for those guys who are talking about the pantyhose, I think it is nothing strange especially right now out there got a lot of male pantyhose for you to choose, just at Malaysia I haven't see any shop selling this male pantyhose at the moment. As for the male pantyhose compare to female one, I think I can give you some clues about it because I have been purchased it before for my husband. For male one, I think the size is bigger than female one for sure, and other than that, I can't see any different unless like those male pantyhose got fly opening type one. maysee82, where did you use to buy those good quality pantyhose?

Don't worry!
At least your knowledge are above average compared to other girls

Haven't tried the activskin comfilon yet
It's kinda hard to obtain locally or regionally
The price of the pantyhose alone is not cheap and if postage is included, the price is skyhigh...

@silkygirl,
Nice knowing you, I was lucky enough to travel to US a few times. I bought Hanes Alive , Leggs Active support, (~U$6-9) recommended to me by US airline flight attendant. I also had a flight attendant friend sold me 2 pairs of Kolotex (sheer relief) before, bought from Target Australia. A$7-9. (this brand package actually has 2 flight attendant !!).

The hose is somewhat lasting with proper care. I bought them in outlet store. I do not believe they are the best, just that I found out they are fairly comfortable compare to those available locally, comes standard with cotton crotch design and I usually skip undies, more cooling and less sweaty in our weather.

http://www.onehanesplace.com/product/3013....gnbr=5051000000

I also found out that someone around this forum also selling them. Try stuff for ladies..

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1109620?hl=hanes

Price listed in one-hanes-place usually is cheaper and slightly imperfect. I am not too trendy or adventurous with fancy designed hosiery but usually opted for sheer skin tone support pantyhose. It seemed that the guys here knew much better than me on what brand is good or what is great.. geezz.. I have a lot to learn.. smile.gif

I only shared my journey on how to make it good experience in wearing one, pass few years have been "bare leg" , but due to company dress code, I ended wearing them on daily basis , tried out various cheap cosmetic hose (I coined the term because it is good when is new, do not last well) . I ended up liking support style hosiery, less tiring leg at the end of day. How about you ? Any nice experience to share, tips to make it nice ? Hose for your hubby too ? Cool !

my previous long write up...

@ gnoelhot
the Guardian home brand pantyhose that you mentioned, is it the normal support type? or some other types?

@ maysee82
yeah u're lucky to be able to travel to US and get the chance to buy hosiery without going through the hassle of expensive international shipping
i've tried the kolotex support tights (30d) with 2 air stewardess on their packaging when i was back in melb..i would agree those are pretty good and although it's only 30d, it has good opaqueness
by any chances are you going to travel anytime soon? perhaps you can organize a bulk order for us tongue.gif

@kirashin
being a guy doesn't mean I can't wear them...nowadays it is becoming more and more wide spread and socially acceptable..even manufacturer and online stores are acknowledging our presence
guys have legs too, it should be something unisex...if would be freaky if i don't have boobs and i want to wear a bra
if you really like how it looks, why not giving it a try? you might even like how it feels

@evilhumora,
Overseas trip for company is very hard to come by, sad.gif . I do wish anyone going can let me know.

Your last statement was very funny.. come to think of it, I do like oversize man shirt at times, does that make me a "crossdresser" also. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif (-giggle).

I found out from amazon, they/ or their supplier, do have Hanes alive online, you may need to find out if they ship international.

http://www.amazon.com/Hanes-Alive-Full-Sup...72455567&sr=8-1

I noticed that male wearer like yourself and gnoelhot, are pretty adventurous to tryout different brands to know their feel. For myself and probably other ladies that are more routine into wearing hose tend to stick to just certain brand we like. Those more of household name (maybe M&S, Leggs, Hanes ) tends to have more consistent quality, size and fit. We ended up liking it because of the feel and overall experience

Malaysia market is a bit cursed because of the weather. Secondly, it is dominated by few middle man (just guess) that hardly interested in helping customer experience knowing that there only few sellers out there, bringing only cheap brand that sells in "kilos", in a way, your thought of, vicious cycle kept going deeper and deeper to its own demise. Which is almost happening right now. Many brands not available to us, many of us just found out from internet.

That is why I saw that, when opaque comes in, suddenly many ladies like it (feels good to have hosiery hug to feet nicely) , those probably grown up never wear them before suddenly come across this new found feeling of comfort, in addition to the reliability too because it did not run and snag too easily, if they even had lousy experience of run and snag in the past wearing those sheer cheapo. Even some helped the demise by calling it old-lady hosiery, such negative marketing is the last we need. Only entertainment was helping the trend. Only worry I have is, opaque tend to be thick and less ventilated, the moment trend goes away, it will drag everything with it.

It is good that guys pick up this trend too and there are supplier out there are filling the void, because it is really a practical piece of outfit for anyone at all. I only read from Steve's blog, the male design tends to be more durable even for sheer. I am also thinking about buying comfilon online should my own supply ran out. All that I look for is the consistent and durable quality.
Having a lousy pair of hose could be like betrayal, always run when you need it most..

Both the same...but if I only have one option, I would go for Fatal. Do you know that there is also Fatal 15, which is more sheer? Talking about Wolford, in Asia, you can get it in Hong Kong and Philippine. I'm not sure Singapore has one. But prepared to pay...
As for the Guardian brand, it is just the normal type, pack of 3.

Maysee82, There is nothing too intimate that can't be shared in this thread. I started out with cheap brand as well, but once I tried those more expensive brand, it is no turning back. It's worth the price you pay. I rather pay a bit more for comfort, as I wear it for long period.
Don't worry about you not knowing, we are all learning wink.gif. And your write-up about your hosiery experience is excellent. As for brand, let me throw in a few more...if you have chance, look for Italian brand, there are not that expensive, but comfortable (i.e. Luisa Maria Lugli, Oroblu). Even some Eastern European countries produced good hosiery. I have been to Phillipine, and it is hosiery heaven there as almost all ladies wear hosiery in one or another form, and the supermarket hoseiry department is amazing, a lot of selections....but almost all are local brand.
Haven't try any male pantyhose before, got to get one soon to check it out.

Silkygirl, interesting info on your hubby there. Perhaps getting your hubby to chip in for this thread as well? Welcome back...feel free to share if you don't mind us guys involving in the discussion as well. If it is too intimate, well, as Maysee82 said, take it to PM amongst the gals then wink.gif

Yup, seen it n heard about it.
But I'm just not ready to pay a premium for something with a higher chances of getting snagged easily compared to those with higher denier.
Another thing is the Fatal series doesn't come in XL size...at 179cm/68kgs (5'11"/150lbs), wolford cost too much for a pair of tights that doesn't fit well

btw, you guys should read this article..

well that's what you get over here...everything comes in one size -> free size
if you manage to stretch it, should be able to fit since it's 80d
anyway, why not try getting some proper ones with size that fits you?

@applecream,
welcome to this thread, yeah, I am daily hose wearer out of necessity for my job . Good quality pair of properly size and fit pantyhose certainly enhances the wearing experience , I did a long winded write up earlier if you like to check it up.
I am not so much into fashion trend, but more of wearing experience sharing , I usually prefers support style that gave me some compression effect and ache relief.

About the magic on man, no doubt about it , I went to Hooters before with male co-workers during a trip overseas.  You should see their reactions.  tongue.gif

Even a few guys here also enjoying the experience of having a nice pair of hose on their legs too.

@Rikrik,
Yeah, that is given. I usually did not experience slipping down like I had with those undersized cheapo and when I skipped panties, it clings on well to my skin. I like to fold the top down to conceal it, at times my shirt ride up, or become un-tugged, I just did not like to reveal the top too, be it panties or top of pantyhose.

Sheer ones...doesn't last long unless proper care are given
Unless it is made of good material and designed to be run-resistant

Extra stuff i've found on the internet (unisex fashion show??)

wao ! suddenly this quiet forum was buzzing with people.

Anyway, I do hope those lurking around and read do get some idea, why many perceived wearing hose as dying art, while there are still some die hard follower.

For those hardworking people on their feet all day long, or seated for long hours. You should make an effort to try out support hosiery, more for long term leg health. I stumbled upon it by chance and I am enjoying it. Start with a good pair and work your way to find the suitable brand and fit.
(I hope I am being not perceived as spreading pseudo-science) . This is nice write up about varicose vein..
http://www.veindirectory.org/content/prevention.asp

wearing hose is also my little investment on leg health.

I usually ignored those sideline commentators like the journalist predicting demise of pantyhose, also help spreading the old-lady syndrome on sheer style hosiery . Many was predicting end of the world in 2000, 2007, 2008, now 2012.. I think after 2012, pantyhose will still be around. smile.gif

came across this from china-
