In the another interview by gamespot....at thier booth

it was asked if the player could actually play or drive a TiTan class mech....according to the creative direct "Ralf" he said that they will some how let the player have some form of control over that.

I've a feeling we might see enemy daemons the size of a tower or even Ork mechs which rival the Titan class mechs.

However from the concept arts, they have only drawn those citidel class titans. So I wonder if you actually get to be inside a titan while fighting tons of chaos forces XP...
Could be that our Captain will be able to give some orders or direction to a Titan that is fighting along side.

Something like "Start covering fire" or thing like that.

Didnt think about fighting INSIDE a titan, that's a good idea but it may not be that "special" for most of it, metal corridors, metal doors etc.

Titans do indeed get assaulted by ennemy infantry and usually have a complement of IG or Mechanicus troops (Skitarris) inside their legs to fight against that.
Or they also serve as transport for whole companies of IG/Space Marines and drop them later on right in the middle of the battle.

Space Marine has Steamy system requirements

user posted image

QUOTE
THQ has shared the tentative system requirements for Warhammer 40k: Space Marine on their official forums, revealing that the upcoming action game will require a Steam account. This is actually more interesting than the specs themselves, as it heavily implies they've decided to once again eschew Games For Windows LIVE for Steamworks with the Warhammer 40,000 series. Precedent for this motion was set with the release of the latest expansion for Dawn of War II, but now we may have a trend rather than an isolated incident.

Of course we're all waiting with bated breath to hear an official confirmation as to whether Relic's latest will have Steamworks functionality, which will surely be coming as the game's release date of September 6th nears. Oh, and if you're still curious as to what the minimum and recommended specs for the game are, here you go:

    Minimum Configuration

OS - Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7
Processor - 2.0Ghz Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or AMD X2 or better)
        RAM - 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista), 2GB (Windows 7)
Hard Drive - 20 GB space free (10 GB free after install)
Video Card - 256MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 & DirectX 9.0 or better (Performance equivalent to an AMD Radeon 3850 or NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT)
        Online Steam account

    Recommended Configuration

        OS - Windows 7
Processor - Any Quad-core AMD or Intel Processor
        RAM - 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista), 2GB (Windows 7)
Hard Drive - 20 GB space free (10 GB free after install)
Video Card - 512MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 & DirectX 9.0 or better (Performance equivalent to an AMD Radeon 5750 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260)
        Online Steam account

Spotted on PC Gamer.

Relic remains committed to PC development
QUOTE
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine developer Relic Entertainment stated in an interview with Eurogamer that PC game development remains their priority, despite piracy and high-profile leaks in the industry.

According to marketing manager James McDermott, "(Piracy) is always a concern as a company, but it’s not one which is driving the decision to make PC."

McDermott continued, "THQ has quite good traction with PC sales. Steam numbers continue to be really good for us. Relic have been into PC games for a long time. We’re still seeing a lot of good numbers can come from that market. We still think it’s viable. We’ve already seen pre-orders are pretty high for PC on Steam."

He added, "Some people just think it would be easier if PC went away. I just get that sense sometimes. It’s because PC is such a tailored market in terms of the kind of platform you have to have. The barrier to entry is a lot higher than just, go and buy a console." McDermott then concluded, "It just seems like there’s more complexity to it, which is probably somewhat true. But it is a great platform. For first-person shooters, that’s still where I want to play."

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be released on September 9.

There probably be physical copy of this game.

However, physical copy of the game will still utilize Steam.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine multiplayer preview: Class warfare

user posted image

QUOTE
We've seen THQ's Warhammer 40K: Space Marine a few times now, and it's shaping up pretty well as a sort of "Gears of Warhammer 40K." The Space Marines are a huge part of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40K lore, and Relic Games has placed them into a third-person shooter, skillfully combining run-and-gun and melee combat with lots and lots of Ork killing.

Last week, THQ finally showed off the game's multiplayer at an event in Santa Monica, and what we got to see there was an interesting, if a little shallow, class-based shooter. It features some really careful class balancing, and an armor customization system, fittingly called "The Customizer," that should make even the most ardent of Warhammer 40K fans happy.

The combat looks like typical third person shooter, but it does look fun, if there are good MP population.

Dunno should i pre-order or not.

Multiplayer looks solid.

And playing as an assault marine rocks.

Are we gonna get terminator armor in this?
