I saw that post as well, but he is asking for top up of the difference 4870GS - 4850GS. desmond's 4850GS is going to be a new unit after the RMA, so a bit..wasted? unless the top up is lesser than that amount la wink.gif

Ahh, sorry I thought you were from Malaysia. Our local distro was offering 1-1 exchange sometime ago for those faulty cards smile.gif. Far Cry 2 should be out by the time you receive back your new card brows.gif .

desmond's plan was to trade in with netraid lol. new 4850GS and top up the balance for another new 4870GS. His card went MIA for warranty.

LOL, Huntkey 450W. They delivered 450W to the PSU and it ended up with sparks. Protection feature ain't working at all (or there isn't any? to begin with?).

if ST56F can't power up 4850GS, a lot of PSU is going to fail already tongue.gif.

Errk, why not? 4850GS doesn't take up a lot of power idling ._. Don't tell me you game 24/7 right? It is a 560W true power, you system the most will utilize 300W max that's all. Lots of headroom man.

Errk... new one got problem? Sounds like driver issue to me. Reinstall the drivers properly. Clean it after uninstalling the current one with driver cleaner in safemode.

What error message? Can state it here?

I've left my system for days when downloading. No error or whatsoever after I wake up. I even left my computer overnight for downloading + Intelburntest testing to see if my OC is stable or not a few times.

About the 12v, mine shows weird readings from speedfan and hwmonitor as well but alright in BIOS and mobo software.

If it really went that low, I think your computer would have turned off or crashed smile.gif.

^ Why not? The 4870GS is designed to run at turbo mode. If running at stock, then it is like reference card performance already exclude the better cooling.

^ I would go for Corsair due to single rail on the 12v. Google around for the difference and you will see which type if more efficient.

^ Refering to the single rail 12v series.

VX and TX both have single rail 12v, only the HX ones don't have.

Well, IMO is the same thing and probably coming out from same factory. Just different badge to be sold in different location of the world perhaps.

Heatsink is identical, just the stickers and packaging.

Hmm, in that case better get Netraid to confirm.

I think the board is the same, Palit also has 4 phase PWM. Both also clocked the same on the Turbo mode.

8.6 gg, miss out so much Crysis optimization on the drivers. Mine's alright biggrin.gif. Playing Far Cry 2 on everything Ultra High. 1280x1024 only though. Manage to keep the FPS above 30 at all times.

EDIT : No AA/AF yet. Was messing around with it. Damn truck ride was SOOOO long.

Yes, DX10. Don't know if it is running on 10.1 or 10 =/ There's only DX9 or DX10. And HDR feature is disabled in DX10 (can't enable it..).

Hmm, I think if your temperature goes 80 or so it'll probably speed up. But since 50% also can control the temperature well, why raise the speed for more noise?

This is the thing I'm curious to know. Far Cry 2 is one of the few games supporting DX10.1, but I'm not sure if it is running on DX10 or DX10.1 =(. Settings available is only DX9 or DX10.

You can force it to run on DX9. If you're on Vista, can right click it and select run on DX9. Yes, running on DX9 will improve performance by quite a bit. I've played both DX10 and DX9 (Vista and XP, didn't know I could run it in DX9 in Vista earlier). DX9 performs much better and for the graphics, my eyes don't really notice anything. But of course, people who are more observant would probably be picky on this.

I mean the game icon inside the Games folder where you launch Warhead. Can right click it and choose options right? There's one you can do run in DX9 or something like that.
