Err, there should not be any stock of the first batch left. Actually the first batch sold out sometime ago. Very easy to spot, if the heatpipe is nickel, then it is the 2nd batch.

Why don't want to get it from one of the LYN traders here? Selling at RM640 now I think, cheaper man. Anything wrong can go straight to NetRaid (their distro).

dfcloud, CM690?

Well, get 550W and above would be safe. Though the system would only take about 270W or so on a minimal system. proc, mobo, ram, single hdd, cpu fan, dvd drive.. but yours so much extra.. so better to have the extra room smile.gif.

bought my 4850 GS...  rclxms.gif
yesss...... still on my humble 400W PSU
*
No offence, but have you tried gaming with it? Crysis/Warhead or anything intensive. From the looks of that system of your sig, 400W might not be enough though. What GC were you using before this one?

lol on warhead - gamer setting give me 30fps on average..

default vantage
gpu = 5.5k cpu = 6k

3dm06
12.7k

what more?

*ofcourse before this i'm using 3870...
*
Glad to hear that. I've a friend with 8800GT (or was it another model.. 8800 series for sure). Ran with a really lousy PSU, (yes I know about Enermax smile.gif ) Crysis was able to play until the area in the beginning where you find aztech, it will definitely hang until he changed his PSU lol.

Just went to look at your PSU's spec, 30A on the 12v. That's sufficient for 4850, I think the specs ATi gave out was 30A on the 12v.

Cannot really see numbers, some 500W got really weak 12v rails, in that case also can't run 4870 properly. Best to see the 12v rail instead.

last nite done OC my gc..damn hard..the memory clock reached it limit 1st..later need to refine tune the mem clock so i can get the max speed..
*
o.O? Memory reaching limit? IMO for 4870, the core is the one bottlenecking. Try to up the core instead of the memory. DDR5 at 1000 already provided a lot of bandwidth.

QUOTE(8tvt @ Oct 16 2008, 09:23 AM)
yes.. it kinda misled ppl.. should educate them more.. using W as general like that..
still remember saw many ppl sell their PSU just becoz of the myth..
*
Yea =/ No problem also sell. Now... my whistling.gif PSU dry.gif .

i cannot oc my mem too much..but i do increase a bit more of core clock..
*
What I mean was, don't concentrate on the memory so much, instead on the core biggrin.gif. Post up some vantage/3dmark06 score to see biggrin.gif

QUOTE(JY. @ Oct 16 2008, 09:45 AM)
I just notice one thing, when idle, the clock speed for my 4850 is 500 and 1100 eventhough i have clock it to 710 and 1110. Is it normal?
*
Yeap, it will idle at lower speed to save power. When you game it will go back to the default clock speed.

serigala using WC setup. So can't really compare.

owikh84's 4870GS set at 750/1000. Kev, your 790/1000 lower score than owikh84's?

Err, as monitor to use windows = any card also can biggrin.gif.

But if want to game at 1920x1080, this is tough for 4850GS frankly. Certain games yet, but most games probably need to lower detail already.

Well, to run nicely at 1920x1080 you will need at least a 4870, better still 4870x2.

And HD resolution means you can watch blu ray at 1080p biggrin.gif.

I said at least tongue.gif. Oh wait you will need the 1GB version as well, more memory is going to give you better performance since 1920x1080 is pretty much considered high resolution already.

This one... Looks similiar to the Toxic and various other non ref 4850... Doesn't perform well le, those that is. This one I don't know. But the design concept is the same. Donut with heatpipe within.

I don't know if they are the same one or not. But the heatsink does look alike just the fatal1ty is nickel plated.

Compare the looks, looks the same to me. Just different color due to nickel plating.

I found this sometime ago, comparison between 3 4850 doing the furmark stress test. Toxic seems to be very hot lol.
