Guys how do you protect your Plasma / LCD TV from lightning/thunder . I have Belkin Gold for the power surge protection but what about Astro?.
The SAT/LNB is connected to the Decoder directly via the coax cable. Decoder power is via the Belkin but the s-video cable / audio RCA jacks out of the Astro Decoder are connected to the Plasma directly. There is no protection from the SAT via the Coax signal cable. A lightning strike to the SAT Dish could take out the Astro decoder. Since the AV cables from the decoder is connected to my Panny Plasma it could also get zapped. I cant use the TV connection on the Belkin as it is using the normal 75ohm jacks for VHF/UHF normal aerial connection . Maybe could still use the standard aerial connection on the belkin, need to modify the connector? So how you guys isolate the Astro Decoder from the Plasma / LCD TV? =.= i told u already they are doing what FULLHD has to offer till its limit. lcd is only half way to FULLHD although they are really FULLHD now but wif the technology its so far behind plasma. plasmas are lcd's future meaning lcd is gonna become like plasma but they will still remain being named lcd

My Sony got 1 year all risk insurance so I don't connect any lightning protector to it. If kena lightning I will get 1 to 1 replacement. Since my model no longer in production I will be getting something of same value which is W400 series full HD teehehe

QUOTE(aerobowl @ Oct 8 2008, 10:49 AM) the point is plasma seems have reach its bottleneck but LCD still in progressive revolution i dont really agree that the technology of plasma tv has reached its bottleneck/limit.plasma may slowly faded out if it still stay with what it has now without new improvement these two technologies have borderless limit. example: in the future, panasonic plasma tv will have a 24mm thickness size of tv. technology is a dynamic movement. Product Research & Development required a huge capital investment. production will stop when it loses too much of capital investment. in malaysia, most of the companies only focus heavily on their LCD tv product instead of the plasma tv due to two giant plasma tv companies in the market. and now pioneer begins to enter into the LCD tv market. if it doesnt do so, panasonic will soon dominate the majority of the market shares. |

Connect the wire to your Sony LCD. I am sure there will at least be one thunder storm during that month |
