airasia is cheap already. the other is tiger, lion, and xpress air.

depending from which place (kuala lumpur / johor / kuching / singapore), flight to bandung is about 2 hour.

Just came back from Bandung, it was fun even though it rained one day there. So just make sure to check the weather forecast and have flexible itineraries, then you will be just fine.

Like rainy days go to shop at Paris Van Java or Rumah Mode. choose a sunny morning to go Kawah Putih or Tangkuban Perahu early in the morning to beat the crowds.

My driver was great. Even though he doesn't speak much english, but communication wasn't a problem as we can speak malay, another plus point is he is very polite and alert. He even gave suggestions on how to arrange my itinerary better so my group and I could save time and beat the traffic. Furthermore, his recommendations on food are inexpensive and tasty.

Shopping there was fun as you stroll pass different factory outlets, but do look for quality instead of brands. I found higher quality products in Rumah Mode compare to other place, so make sure to drop by there. However Nike Factory Store was a let down, things are not really cheap compare to malaysia, and the varieties there are quite limited.

Another tip is don't change too much rupiah! As most of the factory outlets accepts credit cards, just swipe it, you can earn points too. Just bring some cash for meals, and some other items like souvenirs, I changed RM2k to rupiah and came back with RM1k+ left.

PS: My driver contact details for those who are interested.
Name: Pak Engkus
Contact/Whatsapp no: +6282118207665

Just mention Alain recommend, or friends of Alain, and he may give you a good price.

Have fun!

travel with a rented car better. u can go to other places after the volcano trip. IMO la

Woah! But the road condition there, the traffic diversion and the race car drivers... it's like cowboy country.

Better get a pak supir to drive you around.

---

...and if you love to shop, you don't even have to park at all the hotspot places. The driver will wait in the car for you.

This was the my second time I been to Bandung last year Dec. I would like to share some of my personal experience here mostly on Bandung's food that i loved. smile.gif

When we first touched down to Bandung, the first place my driver took us over was to try nasi padang food. The food served was a bit cold but the padang chicken taste good.

The second place I would recommend to visit is kampung daun. Really nice atmosphere. The food must try in Kampung daun are nasi kukus and gurame goreng. They are all my favorite. smile.gif Fro the drink cincau, it's too sweet for me. Don't order it if you don't like sweet stuff.
Here is the website: http://kampungdaun.co.id/

If you looking for fine dining, the peak is a good place you should consider. You can enjoy Bandung's night view at top of mountain. My favorite dish at there is bebek.
Here is the website: http://www.thepeakresortdining.com/

Kartika is another place you wouldn't want to miss it. The brownies kukus is damn good!
Remember to try it ya~
Website: http://store.kartikasari.com/

If you have not try Maicih cracker before in Bandung, then your trip will be considered not perfect enough.
Maicih crackers have different of spiciness (level 3 , 5, 10). For those who love to eat spicy food, you might want to challenge yourself to eat level 10.
Website:http://www.maicih.com/
You can get them in Malaysia and Singapore as were.
Here is their FB account for malaysia ( https://www.facebook.com/maicihmalaysia) & singapore ( https://www.facebook.com/MaicihSingapore)

My first and second trip were all planned by Angga (My driver). He has a good driving skill. All the things are well planned including hotel. Schedule of trip is flexible. Most importantly we feel very secure together with him. I'm sure safety is always the first thing we looking for during travel. SUPER HIGHLY recommend on Angga's service. PM me if you need Angga contact.
