guys i came home to take a pic of d fish, then i noticed something. bubble nest. " then i moved it next to a tank of another male, it flared the ears.

a male got lost in the female bin. nice.

i'll post pics anyway when got chance. thanks!

acam : how can u tell? bubble nest?

i tot so too at first, but when i was looking into my females tank, saw some bubbles in there as well. not a lot though. just a bit. so got me a confused a bit.

female do make bubble nest(small) but i guess in ur pic tat fish has make quite a huge bubble nest.. well to double confirm, u can try use torch light to see through the body to see got egg sack or not, or see the bottom is there any white dot or like an egg. No egg = MALE

thanks edmund. i'll give it a check. regardless,, i kept it in it's own tank for the moment. it'll be a good laugh if it did turn out to be male.

Hi Everyone, I'm a newbie here. =)

The first time i keep Bettas have to go back to when I'm standard 6 in Kedah. Nothing to do there, so me and my friends keep Bettas for our leisure time.

First we buy Betta from Pet shops but after that we went to catch on our own . =) and many 'Pacut' there.

After standard 6, i'm no longer keep them anymore until recently got the passion to keep it again. And I just bought 4 today. =) Will upload photos in comig days. =)

Please advice who are the breeder here? would like to raise a better quality one and younger one.

u r looking for breeder at which area(kl,kedah,etc)? and what kind/type of betta u r looking for? cause different breeder got different signature betta.. maybe u provide more info, we can suggest u more suitable breeder..

I'm currently in KL now. =) haha recently i only realized there are so many types and many names on them =). I would to have a Halfmoon plakat , CT now. I would to have all the types. =)

Actually those name is just the breeder name their fish to make it nicer only.. as long as the buyer like, then ok liao lo.
types then there is mainly 4 types tat is popular now which are (most<--->least) HMPK,HM,Giant,CT..
then color i guess there r too many.. haha..

Hi All,

I'm interested in getting a pair of bettas (male & female) and I've done a lot of reading (BSM, Betty Splendens, wikiHow, etc..) over the past few weeks to learn how to breed them (in order to produce different variation of colour and type). To be honest my target is Double Tail + Halfmoon/delta tail = Double Ray / Double Double Ray. Below are a few questions I have;

1. where can i find medicines for known betta diseases where i'm located (Puchong) as i've gone to a few pet shops in puchong and either they don't have or sometimes then don't even know what i'm talking about?
2. where can i find fry food in puchong?
2. is there a betta breeder in puchong? (if none, let me be the 1st ;D)
3. since there is no price control on betta fishes, i'm looking for sellers willing to sell 7 weeks old bettas (double tail male and halfmoon/delta tail female) below RM10, is there any?

2 ray long tail = veiltail..
if double ray doesnt mean veiltail then in my mind only pop out double ray ct.
maybe i m kinda newbie i had not heard double double ray b4 so i have no idea wat it is..

Answer for ur questions
Puchong breeder(i assume u mean home breeder at puchong),home breeder usually sell fish at rm20 and above and erm, usually halfmoon(real halfmoon) female shud b around rm40 and above.. So with the price u offer i guess is kinda hard to get wat u wanted.. Maybe u can try ur luck at jalan pasar,pudu with those rejected quality from home breeder.
Fry food u can get it from home breeder or some website selling betta in msia.
7 weeks betta we usually known as fries/juvi and home breeder usually wont sell their betta at this age. Betta only ready to breed when they r age 4 months above.
About medicine, there are various type of medicine,may i know which type of medicine u r referring to? (usually Melafix i assume then at cheras,kl can get it)

- you are right, double double rays are CTs with more split ends
- hmm, RM20 to RM40 is what i got too (will survey further then)
- Fry food, don't really want to go all the way to KL, will consider online then
- Yes, 7 weeks fry is what i want and continue to breed them until they are ready to mate. but like you said, thats not gonna happen so will survey further.
- For medicine, i just want to know where to find them for the below diseases;
Black spot disease
Chilodonella
Dropsy
Eye fungus
Fish lice
Mouth "fungus" - Melafix
Ick / white spot disease
Anchor Worm
Pop-eye
Skin fungus, body fungus
Velvet
Fin Rot - Melafix

p/s : I don't have a betta fish yet as I am not well prepare yet (i.e. where to find medicine, where to find fry food, etc..)
