are you really sure?...Sony already stated in E3 the 80g is actually the 40g model with extra 40g Hard disk space
BC is Backward compatible, both the discontinued model 60g & 80g  has the ability to play PS1 & PS2 game. But the newer version can only play PS1

NTSC U/C is actually the format for US games. sinc eour stick with NTSC J, we cannot play US game

As of last week, Sony Malaysia was still finalizing some of the event details. But I've gotten the green light from a key person of Sony Malaysia to post up the details as some competitions such as the PS3 Game Girl competition has an early registration deadline date of 10th September 2008. By the time our magazine comes out with the news, it would be too early for the ladies to register for that contest. But the 24 hour gaming marathon has a registration deadline of 18th September, so you still got plenty of time to brush up your skills. smile.gif

Also today's a long Merdeka break...I don't think anyone's working today. tongue.gif

Wow I'm slow.... just saw the news.

Its great news to me, eventhough I won't pick another PS3 up. THough, RM1699 is only a rather "okay" deal. What I want to know now if it is the 80GB SKU with PS2 BC or the upcoming core-80GB SKU which is replacing the current 40GB.

I'm placing my bet on the latter though.

Who is joining the SC4 competition btw? I haven't even played SC4 before but was rather big in SC3. So I may join... tongue.gif

hey, will this special bundle only be available during the launch event? 1699 is a good deal since you get 2 games. but lets say after the launch, is it probable that they will sell the console only at a cheaper price?

and also, do you think the grey importers will lower the prices of their non-MY sets?

Its a good deal for those who haven't got their PS3s . My guess is they'll probably sell the PS3 at that price but only including one selected game once the promotion is over.

Those who have bought theirs shouldn't be too bothered . Basically all you're missing is an extra 40GB and a warranty . 40GB isn't all that much and harddrives are cheap anyways .

As for the warranty , the PS3 isn't an Xbox . As long as you take care of it i doubt you'll need to send it for repairs often. That is unless you didn't get ripped off when you bought yours and got a refurbished unit or one with fake lens .

yeah, the warranty is what makes me want to sell old one and buy this new one biggrin.gif

as much as they would like to promote the game ,
Soul calibur 4 isn't exactly the best game to be put as tournament as of this moment, there are many bugs, and button layouts.

If you are actually into the game, u should have known how tournament in other countries are banning this banning that, ending up destroying the tournament . Namco hasn't release any patch that fix the problems so far.

As for those who think they were good by spamming the AB buttons (default by R1 button )only,
remember you dont' get such options in the tournament for button mapping =), since they only allow button mapping for 1 person.

Would be interesting to see how it will works out, but honestly it will take a SC4 veteran to customize out all the rules ( Which is sad to say, there aren't really much player that take the game seriously on lowyat) .

I really doubt the organizer has put such a long time into the game yet .

Tekken DR 5 is a better option than this one

Mind telling me what are some of those bugs?

I've been in SC3 tourneys before, but I doubt it'll be anything the same interms of the rules and regulations. My guess is that they will just do those crappy "seeding" style of competition. Who-ever wins, moves on until the last man standing.
