err.. why they got 3 guitar players?  rclxub.gif

i remember this quote very well by some metalhead

When asked about y iron maiden has 3 guitarist (performing both lead and rhythm):

"Most rock or metal bands keep it to one lead guitarist, with a rhythm guitarist occasionally, but sometimes with the same guy doing both. Iron Maiden has three guys who do both. Why? Because f*** you, that's why."

These kind of song will guaranteed not make it into Megadeth regular staple. He only play it on special occasion.

For me it's decent. Nothing more (Megadeth - Th1rt3en). Maybe a little bit mainstream and catchy. I prefer Evile - Five Serpent's Teeth.

Evile's Five Serpent's Teeth is seriously a Metallica sounding album, the old ones of course. Some might feel its old, unoriginal, uninspiring and all that. They did quite well with this release, tight and solid performance. Have to say it took some time to grow on me. Reason is because of other bands effort made this release look pale in comparison.

Thrashers Alert!

Havok - Time Is Up(2011)

Warbringer - Worlds Torn Asunder(2011)

Vektor - Outer Isolation(2011)

Deceased - Surreal Overdose(2011)

Toxic Holocaust - Conjure And Command(2011)

So what do you think?

Havok suit my taste. I love thrash metal band like this. Stay to the root, keep it simple but aggressive. No need to be too complex or progressive. If there's digital album i'll consider buying it, since i'm aware the CD version might be too hard to find at local outlet.

went to see warbringer when they came to our shore. not bad, evantho i rmbred only less than 100 ppl during the gig. too bad they had to shorten their performance as they got a flight to catch or somethin. "living in a whirlwind" is my fav

Just got Vektor's latest album, but yet to listen to it. Sounds promising.

You should check out bands like diamond plate and lazarus AD as well. the later's 1st album was 1 of the best shit in recent years IMO

Added on January 20, 2012, 7:20 pmamyway, leave approved and flight tix was booked. Judas Priest here i come!

This quarter of the year seems great, with so many bands touring arounf SEA.. sad that i dont get to do Opeth (live in sg) and Black Dahlia Murder (live in TH)

who's going for Dream Theater in jkt? end april

There are so many underrated gem out there. I usually visit http://thenewreview.net/, their free stuff section also worth to check out. Lately i don't have much time to go buy metal record since i no longer study or work at KL. I really hope someday there will be unified platform for buying metal album digitally, for example bandcamp. The godfather of Death Metal; Death also have an account there. But problem is, most band out there tied to record label. So it's not legal for them sold their album elsewhere. These small label have hard time to promote their band / artist due to small budget. I really think in this modern internet age, band should take advantage of this technology.

I agree, thrash needs to be straight forward and inflict as much damage to our necks. I also love thrash with progressive/death/black influenced sounds as they are refreshing, but some band tends to overdo some tracks.

Like you said record labels chains the bands from selling their albums online. Only unsign bands or independent ones does that, sell their digital copy for like $1 the lowest. Maybe in the future such huge platform would be created for universal use.

Lazarus A.D is great too, I stumbled upon them by accident. What the hell is this lizard ad thing, click and win. Diamond Plate not familiar, will check em out later.

Unfortunately we cant go to all of these concerts...if only they all come to one festival here what a dream. Black Dahlia Murder new album also not bad, good comeback album I would say.

If your favourite metal band signed under Relapse Records, then this is the perfect catalogue for you: http://relapserecords.bandcamp.com/
I'm interested at Death and Toxic Holocaust newest album in that catalogue. What i like about bandcamp, they let you preview the song in it's entirety. Not some 30 seconds clip.
