QUOTE(Paca @ Jun 13 2009, 11:55 PM) to be honest, XPS has been overlapped by Studio XPS and Alienware long ago...XPS M1330 -> Studio XPS 13 XPS M1530 -> Studio XPS 16 XPS M1730 -> Alienware and i believe in the last 2 or so years, XPS M1730 hurts the sales of Alienware... |

QUOTE(crisisneo @ Jun 14 2009, 12:14 AM) heat issues aside, i think the sxps is the best possible model out there in that price range...(design+performance) well, Asus has some great design too, like the N50 and N51 series...i heard Gateway is quite good too.. but to be honest, i did consider SXPS16 before also... |

QUOTE(tarm86 @ Jun 14 2009, 12:52 AM) the biggest problem for us now is that no manufacturer release laptops with good specs and good design.. either look like a brick with good specs... or look fashionable but performance subpar.. the only thing that make the sxps 16 stands in the crowd is the full led screen with backlight and latest montevina chipset and ddr3... too bad the gc not up to par with the market's current trend of 9600gt well,besides SXPS and HDX, there are loads of laptop with good spec and nice design also...Asus N50/N51 series (GeForce GT 130M), Lamborghini VX5 (GeForce GT 130M with C2Q Q9000), Alienware (dun need to say rit... and no, 9600M GT is not an uber card, and HD 3670 with GDDR3 can catch up to it (GDDR3 version only) with less heat also... both scores abt 5k+ in 3D Mark 06 problem with Nvidia, is that they dun have a good enuf mainstream card in the market... ATi's supposedly value card HD4570 GDDR3 can catchup with GeForce 9600M GT/9650M GT/GT 120M with DDR2... and it's mainstream HD4650 is on par with GeForce 9700M GTS/ GTS 150M... and believe it or not, the 9600M GT on HDX 16 scores only 4k+ in 3D Mark 06 as it's only using DDR2... it's consider low performance for the price u pay... |

GT 130M with DDR2 on HP HDX 16, scores roughly the same as 9600M GT with GDDR3 on BenQ S42...
GT 130M has higher core and shader clock, but is pulled by the slower RAM... so in another word, HD3670 is still competitive with those 2 GPU... but looking at this, it's hard to tell if Dell would give SXPS16 a refresh, as many other brands use GT 130M with DDR2 as well... |

P = 25W TDP, T = 35W TDP...
