One thing's for sure, NVIDIA GPU will be available as an option, since the slides mentioned the availability of Hybrid SLi; Dell may offer ATI GPU, we don't know yet.

This question pop up a number of times @ NotebookReview forum, according to atbnet (one of the forum member there) Montevina will arrive on current XPS line at about the end of August <-> early September.

Dell have yet to disclose any details on their hardware specs for the XPS Studio series, where do you get that info from?

I can get first hand information regarding Dell new products. the source from somebody.... sorry unable to tell who is...
for example: before that there is studio 15 & studio 17 photo deak on Engadget but no model and name confirm that time.
most of ppl guess is new inspiron model that follow xps design.
But I already knew in advanced its called Studio; new series of dell end user notebook.
( can check my previous post )

other latest news like: beside Studio Hybrid on sell now, estimated there is normal Mini Tower & Slim Tower Studio Desktop launch sooner also, Alienware coming soon next year with notebook first, follow by desktop. everyone know that Dell also join to fight on NetBook or UMPC categories with 8.9" & 12.1" NetBook. Dell also join Nettop. Nettop is also low-cost computer like NetBook which is using low-power processor Intel Atom in Desktop. will implement in Vostro Desktop Series.

usually dell will not re-design the model already launch in the market.
so don't hope there will have montevina offer on studio 15 or M1530.

well, lets hope the quality (knowing dell - decent is enough) is good and we dont run into various problems...yeah, no manufacturer is perfect, but with all the cost-cutting, i hope more companies think of providing trouble-free computing.

Intel Centrino 2 aside, don't forget most of the cool stuff such as LED Backlighting, Illuminated keyboard and Hybrid SLi technology are not available on most of the current Centrino 2 based notebooks. That's why I'm excited as to how XPS Studio will turn out, two other notebooks I have in mind for Christmas purchase is the HP Pavilion dv5t and Toshiba Qosmio F55 series. Both these notebooks have a good set of speakers, decent ~ adequate GPU performance (especially the Qosmio, with NVIDIA 9700M GTS) but they lack LED display and Hybrid SLi which I crave most. Before I went off on a tangent (which I already did), I really hope Dell throws in DDR3 to make it a complete 'next-gen' package.

yes, Centrino2 is common standard that every brand can do; just the diff of time launching.
special is the unique design as mentioned of the features rclxms.gif
1st time Dell launch 16" size of notebook screen that never have before. thumbup.gif
If can add the M1730 logitech game lcd panel, sub-wooofer & display port then will be more perfect laugh.gif in dream only la.....
( I guess dell prototype unit already born, so will not have any major change wink.gif )

if budget are limit, then better look for Studio or value system Inspiron.
if you said Studio still expensive, then XPS Studio are more expensive that we will see when it launch.

Well, we're not even sure whether these slides are genuine, I'll say 50/50.
Usually it will take a longer time for new products to arrive on Malaysian shores, not sure exactly how long, but like you've said it'll probably be a few months time. (approx. less than 3 months, more than 1 month? Just my rough estimation, I might be wrong.)
