Dell SXPS 16 is surely a beast when it comes to performance. There's an interesting discussion which I managed to came across while googling.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=630157

It's a debate of SXPS 16 vs MBP 15/17 inch. I, for one, plan to upgrade my notebook to MBP. Even though it's more expensive than SXPS 16, yet you get OS X and a sleek design. I had used Windows for, my entire life now and plan to try out Mac OS X. Ever since I heard Vista is released I had been disappointed. It's time for me to move on to Mac OS X.

apart from ddr3 using less energy then ddr2, performance wise is the same.. this is because our ram performance is limited to our fsb... unless our lappie comes with the new i7 core systems which doesn't use the fsb tech anymore...
