Wipe the palm rest area with a moist cloth?
No idea what's the best out there; I have a pair Sennheiser HD 437 headphones, a Cooler Master Notepal W2 and a Razer DeathAdder gaming mouse.

Did you purchase Microsoft Works 9.0?

Added on May 9, 2009, 6:02 pmDell XPS 16 gets extra glossy Crimson Red option.

It looks like this: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry24565281

definitely. its way more cheaper to grab microsoft office 07 in lowyat then to buy from dell..

to get your temperature down, try to do undervolting

here is a link.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824

up to 15 degrees diff without any loss of power and cost

guys i would like to ask, should i get an XPS 16 or a macbook? i like the spec of the xps 16 but it seems that there's a lot of complains on the overheating problem. compared to the macbook which has lower spec, which is better? i'm not into gaming on my laptop as i have my pc for that so it's more on graphic designing and video editting.
*
the heat problem can be solved by undervolting ur laptop, using a good cooler like zalman nc2000.. however, its now more to whether u prefer vista over mac os X although u can dual boot a vista in a Mac

if i may ask, what's the problem with the keyboard and the media keys? yeah i know it's kinda fingerprint prone. btw, how's the leather exterior? won't it get damaged easily with our weather here?
what's the average temp u'll be getting for heavy tasking such as video editting or probably gaming?

the prob with high temp is that it'll damage the interior especially the board and may also defect the body one day. i see that happen on a compaq before.
why i hate vista is because some programs are not compatible with it and the number of popups for security issues.
*
vista sp1 is already an excelence os in terms of compatibility and performance... i believe what u meanas not compatible is the vista without its service pack... heating problem like i said before all u need isjust to do undervolting... according to those that succesfuly did it, temps go as much as 15 degrees lower... add urself a laptop cooler should add additiona 5 to 10 degrees.. but one drawback, th hd 3670 is not as pwerful as the newer hd 4600 series nor the 9600 gt... vid editing should be fine

one thing good about macbook is that they have the finest build quality among all laptop brand.. dell is way inferior compare to mac in terms of quality and design

well. erm. for lowyat retailer. don't buy from JustPC or the one at the entrance. They're not professional and not honest.

Hmm. Just a lil' question here, if compare gaming performance, Studio 1555 with HD 4570 and Studio XPS 16 with HD 3670, who wins?

Is the notebook reliable?
I thought getting it with 2.66GHZ, 4GB RAM, Home Pre, 500GB Hard Drive , Integrated CREATIVE Sound Blaster® and rest all normal.
Was wondering is this spec high enough to support high performance games? Will it lag? I also use photo shop too and I'm a heavy multitask-er

Added on May 17, 2009, 2:13 pmDoes it over-heat very often?
*
im using the t9550 rite now and i don feel lag even with photoshop cs4.. games depends.. as for the heat, get urself the zalamn nc2000... its pricey but worth the price

only feels warm when you start playing games for about an hour plus or so for me. but if you get a reliable laptop
cooler it would be great.

For me now , just finding a hard time to download the drivers from the website , wonders if anybody know any other alternative?
its very slow
*
are u using streamyx? i read in other thread recently streamyx having a slowdown...

maybe it'll be release the second half of the year.. too bad for the rest of us who gotten the sxps16 earlier on... the diff between hd3670 with hd 4670 is around 3k points according to 3d mark06... but i wonder how much heat will the more powerful gpu produce since the hd3670 already producing significant heat ...

Damn. Maybe the price would increase a lot too?
*
maybe and maybe not.. but oh well.. its hard to catch up with technology nowadays. by the time we get tha hd4670, a few months after maybe hd 5670 will be out.. just that i hope newer games don't get too demanding like the gta iv.. any higher than that, our laptop can't run even on the lowest setting..

Added on May 18, 2009, 11:44 pmbtw guys, which driver should i use to update my gpu? i mean the driver which give better performance...

from the dell website with the size 105mb
http://supportapj.dell.com/support/downloa...6&fileid=312826

or from the amd website ( catalyst driver v9.4) + Catalyst modder

*
sorry.. i mean 3k more points than 3670.

Added on May 19, 2009, 2:44 amcomparison in notebookcheck.net

ati radeon hd3670 average score 4375

ati radeon hd4670 average score 7620

both based on 3d mark 06

quite a hefty diff for a step higher upgrade of gpu

I had tried upgrading processor from Dell within 3 months time after purchase. They will take back the laptop & send over a brand new one instead. I only need to pay the difference. Not too sure of upgrading the gpu though.
*
how did u do that? i don see any option in their website?

Hmm? No idea. Maybe install the new driver? Everytime playing a game, I made everything in highest detail =D While it lags only make it lower. But I'm pretty sure, I maxed out L4D perfectly.
*
did u use the modded catalyst driver or standard dell driver? i heard got diff in performance, but can't find the details

lol grats on the new lappy. but having few problems with it , slight problems. well first tried to install company of heroes , and it always get stuck halfway , i think maybe its something with my optical drive? i updated the drivers already.

and transfered left4dead via my external hardisk , and able to play it , but hangs halfway and i have to restart the lappy.

anybody experience this? i just updated all the drivers through the support website :/ alittle disappointing
*

the biggest problem for us now is that no manufacturer release laptops with good specs and good design.. either look like a brick with good specs... or look fashionable but performance subpar.. the only thing that make the sxps 16 stands in the crowd is the full led screen with backlight and latest montevina chipset and ddr3... too bad the gc not up to par with the market's current trend of 9600gt
