Alrighty then. I guess you are not in Malaysia coz I don't think S350 is here yet. A lot of comparison in AV Forum saying S350 has better PQ/AQ than Samsung or Panasonic. Many who own the panny got themselves the S350 and never regret. Hopefully I can see this claim soon

Since this is a DVDP thread, anyone here use DVDP from Panasonic? Any good? I'm thinking of getting one so I can use the Viera Link with my TV. Only now I notice how bad my cap ayam DVDP PQ compared to my Pioneer. Can't notice that before when it was connected to CRT

I dont have BD yet la bro. That one is coming soon. I have all the type u mention but original will be the best in term of PQ and AQ. Anyway sometime you might get lucky. So far I notice my ahem D9 LOTR trilogy the sound got DTS ES Discrete 6.1 (this logo light up on my amp and not just DTS). Ahem BD copies which have excellent DTS-ES 6.1 are Cars and Finding Nemo. PQ for D9 and BD copies all good.

....but still I prefer original R1 DVD. My collection is growing

Actually very easy to decide....

If you need SACD...buy Pioneer DV610
If you need BD...buy PS3
If you don't need both...you can't go wrong with either Sony 708, Pioneer DV410 or Philip 5996. They are all very good HDMI 1080p player.

On personal experience, Pioneer DV600 (or the new DV610) has a very good PQ and not just because it support SACD. If you get this player, consider SACD/DVD-A support as a bonus. What you are actually getting is the excellent PQ that rival the more expensive RM1500 Denon 1940.

Avsforum said they are about the same. I can't say coz I never own DV410. My comparison is between DV600, Denon 1940 and Philip 5986k. Again if you don't need SACD, you can't go wrong with DV410.

Go to AEON website and get all the Jusco contact close to you. Call them and ask if they have any Pioneer DVDP in stock. Good luck.

No prob la. Just use HDMI to connect the two (to play DVD or CD la...I'm not sure that Sony got 5.1 analog-in or not for full capabilities of playing SACD). So far my DV600 plays anything I throw at it. Be it original R1, R3 or ahem disc (don't have original R2 )

I think A&L sells it for RM650. I just came back from Hiway Laser and they are selling DV610 at RM750 and DV410 at RM450.

My favorite salesman at Amcorp A&L currently went holiday oversea. I can ask him when he come back next week. Always got a good price from him. I'm thinking of getting DV410 for my bedroom setup.

They are both good player except Pioneer can also play SACD and DVD-A. Never compare both before so can't say which one is better but I think you can't go wrong with either.

Wow...really? Obviously you've never been to AVS Forum and obviously you never actually see DV400/410 in action yourself. Don't trust What Hifi 100%. Just take their review as a guidance but you must go and see the DV410 for yourself
