QUOTE(lordvega08 @ May 4 2009, 06:53 PM) just bought philips DVP5986K 5986K? That's old model. New one is 5996K. Anyway don't feel bad coz I used to have 5986K and loved the player. Really good PQ and never had any problem with any disc I have ori or not.so far so good, very satisfied with the upscale quality going to watch shutter tonight |

Better but not astoundingly better...just better
If you don't need the SACD/DVD-A capability....5986K is the best bang for your money. |

Bad cable
Added on May 6, 2009, 6:27 pmSeriously to compare between 2 players...everything else must be the same from source, cables to display unit. Only then you can pass judgment. You can't compare between shop and your home This post has been edited by arremie: May 6 2009, 06:29 PM |

Very good PQ but it doesn't read disc as good as Philip 5986K. In other word its a bit fussy with disc condition.

Thanks bro. All this while I've been running 1080p until I forgot what's the ori one. Need to set back to 480P and try to upscale using my amp instead. Need to c which upscaler is better.

My 600AV has no problem with divx thru USB. I bet 410 should not have any problem also. Both basically same player except 600/610 can play SACD and got 5.1 analog output. Heck some people at AVR forum use 600/610 firmware on their 400/410.

QUOTE(timothyy @ Dec 22 2009, 09:15 AM) Elo. Long time no come in here. He! He! e! bro can N728 read bad disc? or less perfect disc with minor scratch?Well, for you guys still looking for an upscaling DVD player... I've just got a Sony N728 model. RM299 (proly can get cheaper else where) with free HDMI cable. Tried to plug in a portable HDD on the USB... it didn't work. Ha! Ha! Ha! On the quality of upscaling... I have not tried with proper DVDs except with an old disc. It is still as slow as the old N76. The remote is smaller with no eject button. Other than that, it is nothing great la. The design is nice and slick. portable HDD sometimes need external power to work properly with the USB port on DVDP. |
