Some pics I took during Raya back in Melaka. Feel free to C&C everyone Some of them are my 1st taken during experimenting with "M" mode...trying to get more comfortable with it. Took this pic of my cat with a bathroom mirror to bounce the built in flash Would like to ask, is this one better... ...or is this one better? Added on October 8, 2008, 8:58 pmP.S: No P.P/cropping was done. This post has been edited by dani_irwan: Oct 8 2008, 08:58 PM

QUOTE(orenzai @ Oct 8 2008, 10:13 PM) first(a bit underexposed due to the white fur) and second is very nice...the rest are just experimental shots... Ty oren & lord darth So Oren, how can I avoid pic #1 from being under? Should I focus on something else than the white fur so the cam will expose more correctly? I don't really understand metering, etc...haha.

Ah, kk...so just a few notches of being over is OK right? Ok, got it! I actually noticed this when I used M mode while taking landscape pics. I'd turn the command dial until the exposure meter says it's correctly exposed and then only I snap. but then I noticed the pic is a bit under also, kinda dark. Thx oren! And I like your 2nd shot too, of the tyre! I think if there's a central focusing point under the tyres, like a pebble, it'd have been even nicer

oren, can u explain why max bokeh can be achieved with the kit lens at a focal length of 55mm and biggest aperture? i know that nice bokeh can be obtained when using big apertures, but as to the max focal length, i dunno yet. Thanks!

Speaking of tripods, I'm looking for one since the el-cheapo tripod that I got with my camera is already kaput after 3 months only, haha. Keen on a Nat Geo Tundra model from Manfrotto that I saw on Shashinki. Question is, should I go for a ball head or a 3 way head? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks friends!

QUOTE(xandman @ Oct 11 2008, 05:47 PM) manfrotto is decently good... and go for ballhead... it's much faster..operation wise... and smaller compared to 3-way... but try to get a good head... else u'll be frustrated... xandman, thanx! the tripod I'm setting my eyes on comes with either a ball/3-way head. I assume they're Manfrotto heads...are they good enuff? A photog friend of mine, on the other hand, recommended the 3-way..he said it's easier to use and 'marking'...whatever that means. lol

My first very weak attempt at HDR: Made from 3 different shots. I'll try to get a hang of this HDR thingy again tomorrow! Hehe. Getting excited now.

I couldn't sleep last night, so waited until sunrise. My reward: Both are HDR, 3 exposures each. Forgive their n00bish-ness. Going to sleep now.
