No doubt the SB900 is more powerful. It reaches 200mm! But I also hear it overheats easily, though for us casual shooters, shouldn't be a problem. Wedding photogs beware though.

A good thing is that the SB800 is now much cheaper. And so is the SB600. There's always the choice of 2 SB600 + radio transmitters for some really awesome strobist action Cheap ones from phottix is only RM140 (http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2008-09DeSale18751086_AUCTION_Phottix_Wireless_Flash_Trigger_2_Receiver_Nikon_SB_600_800_900.htm). This combo is still cheaper than just 1 SB900, and you get 2 flash.

luv it...but i blive some of the shots of the expressions are too tight for eg the apek...because i dunno what the surrounding is like so make the shot takde "feel" IMO

with tight budget, im thinking to buy sigma 70-200 f2.8 for wedding shoots purpose. n i think its okay for me, unless nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR price drops like hell if 70-200 VRII really comes out.. 

n i believe if we utilise the gadget to the max, that shud be no problem. some of my frens impressed that i can stil produce a good pictures (though i dun feel so  ). for the wedding, i think the end products speak itself. my 2 cents..

hi guys, sorry if this sound cliche but I was looking for a cheap tele with macro capabilities. Should I get,

a) Sigma 70-300mm APO

or

b) Nikon 50-200mm VR + extension tube.

you may wanna look at

tamron SP90mm (with nikon mount with AF motor).

it gives u 1:1 macro, but u only get 90mm tele.

Thanks, so many choices for macro lens . Then there's tokina 100mm. I wouldn't be able getting macro lens at my current situation since I got just enough for zoom lens. Maybe another year or so. That's why I need to buy zoom lens with macro capabilities. Thanks mindkiller for your suggestion. I'd look into it.

Just found another technique, 55-200mm with reverse ring + 50mm. Reverse ring seems cheaper but sure is a little difficult and risky imo.

Well, the Tamron SP90 is not that expensive although still more expensive than the 70-300mm Macro.
