I believe it is not 1:1. Could have gotten nearer but risk it flying away even faster. I will say test both out and see if the moving parts of the Tamron will bother you or not.

Sharpness wise, both are comparable. But of course 105mm with VR means you can use it to do a lil more.

Thanks for the compliment But my macro still need lots of practice leh. As for using the 105mm during the whole trip, it made me think more. Haha cannot simple zoom in and out to shoot.

Aisey, both lenses serve different purpose. So I guess you tend to shoot portraits more?

our D40 got pre-flashes (flash fires few times) when set to TTL mode ??

i test my bro Sony A200, when flash is set to TTL mode, the flash fires few tmes.. even red eyes turned off.

i see, but my bro's Sony A200 has more pre-flashes.. 2 times before the last one get expose if I am not mistaken..

I set it to REAR so that i can see the pre-flash in action, it is too fast in normal flash mode for me to see..

Consider the D80 + 18-55 kit lens (or 18-70 if budget allows) + a 50mm f1.8

Much longer lifespan then spending on the D60. D60 will cost your 2k++.

How much will D80 cost now?

I meant body only + a cheap kit-lens. If you get the body + 18-135 it'll be quite a jump from the D60. I say a 2nd hand body with warrant about 2.1k + about 300 ringgit for a 18-55 should do it. Add a 50mm 1.8 for another 300 and that's a pretty nice setup already.
