QUOTE(KTCY @ Sep 23 2008, 07:43 AM) @ bold : Not very friendly statement Well, regarding your reply, here is mine towards yours 1. Who say can't ? LCD of D40 is actually very good and better than Nonac LCD of 400D, 450D or even 40D 2. why I can't tell ? If i want focus a thing, put your focusing point then just twist the lens focusing till the green dot is there. 3. Panning with manual ? My sifu can Remember, those are the days where no AF, they use MF for all the photos taking.i agree with #3 panning with MF is actually ez... given that u KNOW hoe to use a camera and a manual focus lens...

YEs i m sure. BTW.. do u even know wat is stop down metering? it is a trial and error type metering... it doesnt involve the camera's metering at all...
on d200 and above... AiS lenses can be metered by the body... and A and M mode is possible...

the 70-200 is not cheap either....5.9k... get a better body first...then u'll fully utilize the actual capability of the lenses...
the lenses u mentioned incl. the 70-200 seriously outresolves the sensor of D40... if u ask me...i'd suggest u upgrade ur body first... THEN start ur lense collecting...

QUOTE(KTCY @ Sep 27 2008, 06:51 PM) D40 can use 70-200 la The sensor can support it le i din say d40 CANT use the lense... but the resolution power of the lense will be underutilised... since the lense can resolve much more detail than the d40's sensor can capture...

night shots...under low light... if u try on moving subject...u'll suffer a bit... bcoz the shutter speed sometimes a bit too low...
but for still subject... u can do as u please... especially u have a tripod handy...
try lower the aperture...and use slow shutter...

QUOTE(dani_irwan @ Oct 11 2008, 02:09 PM) Speaking of tripods, I'm looking for one since the el-cheapo tripod that I got with my camera is already kaput after 3 months only, haha. Keen on a Nat Geo Tundra model from Manfrotto that I saw on Shashinki. Question is, should I go for a ball head or a 3 way head? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks friends! manfrotto is decently good... and go for ballhead... it's much faster..operation wise... and smaller compared to 3-way... but try to get a good head... else u'll be frustrated...
