Yes, you can use the pre-pack white tofu (in square white box with transparent seal on top). They'll like it. I lazy to buy the usual brand and get from organic shop, the price is RM0.99 and RM2.60. They finish one whole box of tofu from the organic shop within a week. Even I gave them as snack.

Added on August 27, 2008, 4:36 pmI remember I read somewhere about putting some perfume on the hamster's body and put both hamsters together, this is to make them to have the same scent, wonder is this method works? I never see or try before as I'm having Syrians and I do not need to intro them.

I wonder you yourself so scary and how to make your hamster brave on accepting human's touch? At first you dare not touch her or let her to touch you, then you expect her to let you play? First you have to trust her first before you gain her trust. You make sure you wash your hand properly before you handle her or else she will think you are the food and their instinct is to eat or bite, then you can't blame them for doing that. Try research for other info on how to tame hamster online or Google, I'm sure there have plenty ways to tame them. Everybody's method will not be exactly the same. Mine is like Ryo, never use food to tame my hamsters. All the best to you!

Hmm... I do agreed with you that our stock of hamsters are mostly with poor quality but still a lot of people go round and buy. Even for some of the home breeder, they even sell hamster that have genetic disorder like flipping and claim that their hamster is healthy. Then means whether feed or not doesn't matter since the disorder is contained in their gene. So if someone who feed and till the end the hamster is well and living healthy but on the other hand, someone who do not feed fresh and yet the hamster get diabetes or diseases? How can we know 100% where is the problem coming from? We can't judge 100% for their food intake (maybe only 80%?) cos the hamster also will get some snack or something, will that be the cause instead?

All these while the Mod here are encourage hamster owner to feed fresh veges and fruits to hamsters (at least this is what I learn here when I was a newbie), so we are trying out best to feed all these but we have limitation to give in variety as we hardly keep it long in out fridge, so someone who are good enough to think of a new way to help us out with the problem, blend and keep it frozen so that easy for people who have only 1 or few hamsters. After we feed, we did see our hamsters are growing well and healthy, no disorder noted so far. That's why we still continue on. If you say like carrot can not feed to non pure WW and RC (I thought we can feed in small amount with the info provided all these while), then maybe should advice the certain flavor which make the feeder uncomfortable is advice not to feed, but not SMOOTHIE can't feed cos indirectly saying is, FRESH food can not be fed to hamsters? So what are we suppose to feed them? Plain staple food? Then all the hamsters will be like my size. I do believe different people will have own preference of hamster size, not everybody like chubby hamster and say chubby hamster are obese, just because they never see one in their whole life but thin thin hamster around. So I think whoever think that fresh veges and fruit (in solid form or in smoothie form) is harmful or not good for your hamsters, then you can choose to stop feeding, but no need to be keep discourage other people who wanna feed it. (Just for example: I'm allergy to seafood, I can't go round and force and discourage other people that seafood is not good for health as they are unknown for allergy with prawns until proven). Same theory to all. I hope this will be stop right here as this is definitely upset someone who make this without earning profit but out of the pure heart to help and love for the animals.

FYI: If home pet food maker need to consult vets or vet nutritionist, then we will need to pay very high price for the same thing we have here. As I know of other home pet food maker also do not have vet nutritionist consultation even for the snack and treats selling in the market. Maybe I can provide service as for human's nutrition. Hahaha...

Err... I don't mean they are selling inbreed hamster, gerbil, fat tailed gerbil, mouse and mice la. If yes also I wouldn't know cos I do not see them breed mah. Can not put statement if no prove and without knowing.

Come on, they need to state on the label because they need to get the approval. You ask her to state her foods she use is already mean asking her to disclose her recipe la. For you is "prevention is better than cure", it's good to keep it as your personal principle but not everybody will follow. For me, the disorder is already in their gene, we can't do anything for it or change it. Doesn't mean we do not feed, the hamster won't get the disorder. So, why so harsh on everything? Nezu do not even think she want to sell the smoothie in the first place. She make it for her own hamsters and share the idea with us, we encourage her to make more so that more hamsters can benefit from it. Proof needs experiments, time and study. If no one using it, then how to prove her right or wrong.

It's pricey because it's imported stuff for SG but hamster can consume also. It contains not only meallies but other high protein insects as well. Really 'smells good' I gave it to all my babies, unfortunately most of them don't really like it included my picky Fat Tailed Gerbil So I think I'll still go for mealies and tofu for protein.

Almost the same with both item as it is blended insects, it mainly for SG rather than hamsters. My hamsters just bite a bit and left it there for me to throw for them. If you want only mealies, then you can go for the crunchy mealies which is the same brand and look so 'fresh' except it's dry and crunchy.

It's ok. I don't sweep. I'll go your house and bring Puffie home with whatever you are feeding her. Wuakakakakaka.....

Tried before. Do you mean put 2 or 3 flavor in one feeding or everyday different flavor? I've gave them 2 flavors in one feeding before cos each flavor left a bit and it's not enough for all, so I put half the amount of each flavor for them, there I also get to know which flavor they like cos they'll always finish the flavor they like first then the other flavor. Hope I answered according to your question.

We should exchange, my Syrians love it but not so much with Red DEvil, they'll eat but dunno why I feel like they like other flavors more.

Hahaha... When you get the fatsoso, its better for you to buy all flavor as they can really eat. I finish feeding 3 containers for my 3 Syrians within a month.

You don't really need to mix it to intro to them. You can just put it there and they'll come and lick it. Maybe you can ask Nezu see whether she can have some small size containers smoothie for people who wanna try new flavor.

Try to come for the gathering la, very difficult to arrange a gathering where everyone schedule is different. Try make yourself available la, come for awhile also can mah, go back only lor, or now you do faster Next gathering maybe next batch of Fatsoso?

I put the tofu in another container before I put it in the fridge. Do not leave it in open air as air contain microbs which can spoil food. It can last more than a week. My hammies finished up one whole box within a week.

You'll get a sourish kind of smell and have some kind of sticky fluid on top of the tofu.
