umm i forgot the full details, but basically in FMA shounen like world, alphonse's level is low, while the rest like roy/ice dude are high level and edward is like main char guy imba level.

then again it aint that bad for al, cuz he is practically immortal, and his body can be transmuted to restore. the only way to even hurt/kill him is erasing the transmutation mark inside his armor, which he can relocate if he wishes to IINM

That's not my question. My question is why can't he just be like the other state alchemists and have a transmutational circle carved on his gauntlets or something (like Louis Armstrong) instead of using chalk and draw on floor. So inefficient. It seems no one bothered to ask this question before. laugh.gif

Err both Ed and Al are state alchemists. That's why they are being "dogs of the military".

Diffrent circle=diffrent uses.

Armstrong circle is specially for him, and can be only use for "his armstrong special technique".If u notice, i dont recall he transumting anything else using his circle on his glove other than the fighting style.

And the Roy circle is also specially made for flame. i nv seen him use his glove circle for transmuting other things too.
And if u read the manga, roy circle is "special".

Another example is the recent Ice alchemist. Notice he didnt use his Ice transmutional circle for other thing other than transmuting water to ice/steam?

So, Alphonse doesnt have a distinct skill but uses a wide range of alchemy during fighting and just improvise on everythig around him. so i dont think he can only use a certain circle.

But thats IMO

Sure boh? The circles all look the same to me. I go look later.

But i think they use those elements because they train how to transmute the object and apply it to combat, not exactly because of their circle i think.

erm... not really a side story, as starting from the mid of the anime, the story would be quite different from the 1st animu, which they tried to emphasize on. how it turned out is still everyone's best guess.

not really from the middle...the event supposedly take place b4 they go to Lior (1st eps FMA1 n 1st chapter manga)...i think this 1st eps is anime original material used to re-introduced all the important characters...the biggest change they did is juz how/when Hughes meets those Elric brothers...
