Don't expect it to be cheap. Think imitation (if any) will not be cheap too

Nice don't come cheap. Cheap with nice design don't expect last long. I saw some imitation wireless fan in pasar road before, if want cheap and nice can try there, but not sure how long it will last or cause any damage/fire.

guys , is that good if i let the ceilling fan switch ON and control using the remote only? Mean i won't have a wall Switch  On/Off and just On/Off with the remote only

Off the switch when it's not use. Standby will drain energy, and shorter electronic components lifespan. If you have voltage surge your fan circuit board maybe fry even when not running.

maybe i will ask advice from wayar man  biggrin.gif

Not the brightest idea. If you need to repair how do you want to switch it off? Off entire circuit from db box?

If you want to reduce switch get an house automation system,. No switch all apps and single controller.

For those with Panasonic Fan and need repair. You may try the method (link below)

Think it apply to KDK too, since both come from the same factory.

no need to take down the fan, top of the motor there is 4 screws, unscrew then u can remove the fan cover, then u will see 3 more screws at the bottom, unscrew it, take out the bottom cover and u will see the pcb board.

DC motor is the next generation of ceiling fan. Much more efficiency. And since it is still new in panasonic, the quality is better. Before the cut cost unit coming.

If you have the budget, get it now.

I just replace my 5 years old Panasonic fan with new Panasonic DC Fan 9 speed, i use the default speed when switch the main power on. So far so good. Notice is quieter. The previous fan only lasted 5 years well actually still can use, it will make noise once it go to middle or high speed since 1+ year ago, finally purchase another and replace. Fan is no longer reliable as the old days. My mom house using Panasonic remote control fan, is still running strong since 2005.

Installation is easy if you the diy person. If not you have to spend extra 100+ for technician to help you install.

Change that 3 capacitor inside the pcb. There are the culprit.

I have the same problem with the kdk fan. Change the capacitor and it back to normal.

DC fan is low quantity at the moment. But will ramp up once price down. The quality is still good since quantity is not much and no cut cost.

Capacitors not the cause of the sound, more of bearing inside.
