QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 6 2009, 11:19 AM) I'm trying to concentrate on Persona first.. part 3 & 4 for PS2 are readily available, part 1 waiting for PSP to come out in English since the PS1 version too expensive, then I'm looking at part 2 now. I wonder how many gaming hours, one need to complete the whole series The one on NDS is Devil Summoner which I'm getting, and I have Devil Summoner Soul Hackers for SS, and then there are 2 more sub Devil Summoner for PS2 I think Digital Devil only got 2, both on PS2. Then there are various SMT on SNES, Sega CD, XBox, PCE as well Added on July 6, 2009, 11:36 amOh and then there's Nocturne.. Not sure it's another sub series or not |

QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jul 16 2009, 11:31 AM) ha ha. the game is not flight simulation. its management simulation i think. Where you manage your airline company so that you buy more aircraft, invest in hotels, opening up new routes and become the largest airline company in the world. Yes very typical KOEI style games I try and google it up. Added on July 16, 2009, 11:39 amokay, found it. Its AeroBiz : Supersonic http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/vir...biz-supersonic/ |

QUOTE(S4PH @ Jul 16 2009, 04:56 PM) I think not much NES cart games using save game feature, only few long adventures/ strategy/ RPG using it (newer NES games usually). The more common save system during NES time is using password system for each level or milestone. If you're playing using Emulator, of course you can save state anytime u want (no need save game feature). The early NES games have a simple game mechanism actually, that's why many of them didn't require save game (maybe also expensive at that time) This post has been edited by chronims: Jul 16 2009, 06:31 PM |

QUOTE(S4PH @ Jul 17 2009, 10:46 PM) Yes, this is usually 3rd party product and not endorsed by SEGA. Everything almost looks the same, except there are built-in games. There are few 3rd party SEGA-endorsed product but usually they came on different shape and not copying the original SEGA models. |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 20 2009, 04:03 PM) Ya, bought it at the shop. That time CDX was the cheapest compare to NGCD, PS1, 3DO and Sega Saturn, but now it has the best market value I have the SEGA CD 1 with Genesis 1 console, bought quite cheap from my friend. It's quite bulky, but still nice to see and collect heheAnother alternative to this is SEGA CD2 or JVC X'Eye. If u want to play cross-region, still have to use a special cart like datel cd-x or get your bios modded. |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 20 2009, 05:05 PM) Far from rare lah, the seller from the first link I gave you is popular for jacking up prices, and he's selling for $24.95 for a complete copy now Yea, actually for a game to be 'ULTRA RARE' it has to be released in very, very, very limited quantities : eg. AES Kizuna Encounter PAL or MD Tetris (Not affordable for most people) For games that are 'RARE', but you can still see people selling it once awhile (at > $300) of course : eg. SAT Taromaru or MD Eliminate down. Now if we've gone through that, let see how about games that are originally common but now fetching high prices ($100-$200) in the market due to popular demand : eg. SAT Radiant Silvergun, PS1 Suikoden 2 If I would categorize Aerobiz Supersonic, it will not fall in any of above-so-called 'RARE' categories Added on July 20, 2009, 5:40 pm QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 20 2009, 05:11 PM) Yea I got mine all loose (and from a friend) so it's cheap alright. But as any frontloader model, it will be more prone to jamming when opening the cd tray. In fact this is a problem for all kind frontloading consoles, due to its motorized part : Mega/ Sega CD1, NEO GEO CD 1st, 3DO FZ1, Panasonic Gamecube and even FAT PS2. But luckily mine is still alright and read cd also still ok This post has been edited by chronims: Jul 20 2009, 07:31 PM |

QUOTE(alex13 @ Jul 21 2009, 11:37 AM) There is this shop in Tesco Kampar that is selling refurbished set PSOne - Slim. Last time I asked them, it cost about RM350 for everything. It could be cheaper if you just want the console. Actually if you're thinking buying a lot of consoles in one shot to safe delivery cost is not good idea, the reasons are :There are also quite a few selling around in lowyat.net, but most of it is PSOne Slim too. For the fat one, you might need to dig deeper. In my place, Penang, I found a shop near USM selling it, though it is also a refurbished / used set. Added on July 21, 2009, 11:39 am One day, I am going to collect enough money, and buy everything in one shot..cheaper delivery 1. More Risk of Loss, damaged, etc., just like investment don't put all your eggs into one basket. 2. The custom will be more than glad to find an excuse to tax your items. 3. Seldom people sells a lot of items in one shot, so limits your choice of buying. |

QUOTE(LiangZhuge @ Jul 24 2009, 01:26 PM) Well 1 way is to look at the PCB board at the end of the cartridge (the part where u blow for NES cart). Originals cartridge PCB are brown in colour, fake are green. Yes this is true, just check the bottom of your cart will do (green = fake/ brown = ori). Another way to spot is by the label of the cart (got SEGA/ other) logo or not. Normally the fake carts don't have the company/ trademark logo written on the label.Added on July 24, 2009, 1:39 pm QUOTE(3rotor @ Jul 24 2009, 12:08 PM) Does anybody know how to differentiate ori and fake md/genesis cartridges ? If your Castlevania bloodlines cart is ori genesis, you will see GENESIS Logo written vertically on the left side of the label and also the KONAMI & SEGA logo, just like the picture below. I also have both the carts and the fake one is very easy to distiguish even only by the label. My genesis castlevania bloodlines cover is definitely fake but the cartridge looks genuine to me... ![]() ori genesis cart, borrowed from other website. Note that not all Genesis cart will have similiar logo, other also have a black & silver Genesis logo which also is an original one. ![]() Another variation of original genesis game Different games also came in different cart size/ shape, eg. EA games have more like a square shaped cart and a yellow tab on the left side. ![]() Ori EA Games Also Sonic & Knuckles have bigger and different shape than normal due to its special functionality. Ori Sonic 3 on top of Sonic Knuckles cart combined together The above examples are all only for GENESIS cart. For MD Japan, Asia and Euro/ AUS PAL will have a slightly different features (eg. Logo will be MD, Megadrive, etc). This post has been edited by chronims: Jul 24 2009, 02:12 PM |

QUOTE(sonic_cd @ Jul 27 2009, 02:08 PM) too bad the xenosaga they cut back the game though . i remember they annouced that it was to go beyond 3 games @ one point . For some people, they would not mind anyway. They would've preferred that the producer created the sequel based on xenogears instead.Added on July 27, 2009, 2:47 pm QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 27 2009, 02:35 PM) I'm still trying to finish Xenogears before starting Xenosaga.. very long and less attractive than I first thought and recommended For Xenosaga, you might just want to skip the first 2 and head for the third one This post has been edited by chronims: Jul 27 2009, 02:47 PM |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 27 2009, 02:42 PM) Not region free, but you can use a boot disc to boot them.. called "utopia" or something, shouldn't be hard to get I have the new trance vibrator made by ASCII, but never used it. I wonder for what purpose one would use it anyway ?? and I certainly wasn't interested to buy a 2nd hand one at that time Added on July 27, 2009, 2:43 pm Play lots of shmups but response getting worse these days No vibrator, no one to play around with the vibrator |

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jul 27 2009, 02:51 PM) Ha3 I knew someday u would ask me this question The truth is I don't have time to organize my collection, since it's quite dispersed between my home town and here. So it's also difficult to take pic of my collection since it's a bit here and there. However if u interested to see the glimps of my collection here (still growing), I will gladly take some pic Do you collect AES/ MVS carts btw ? QUOTE(evoHahn @ Jul 28 2009, 09:02 AM) imho, the sub title - should include no PS2, No GC, No xbox and no DC since those consoles are pretty recent - and new games is still available on PS2 Actually for GC, Xbox and DC some people considered it to be classic already because the console has been discontinued for some times and their technology is not really current-gen (Since PS3, X360 are current-gen now). This is if you differentiate by the generation of the console of course. But for PS2 case, it's a bit hard to categorize because even though the technology is outdated (almost 10 year), it's still being produced in the form of the slim PS2 (9XXXX) series and still got developers coming out with new games. I think this is because Sony thinks that PS2 can still make money and that's why they take out the PS2-backward compability in PS3 (maybe due to this reason and price cut of course). |

QUOTE(LiangZhuge @ Jul 27 2009, 05:47 PM) Maybe we can all find those old arcades and take the boards out I think if this is cabinet is MVS, can put the multi-in-one cart inside. Then like u said can select games from the menu. But if using MAME, that means it's a PC running emulator and somehow modified to use coin-op, then this would also be possible. Nowadays the arcade hardware specs look like more and more comparable to PC though. Was thinking of getting and old arcade cabinet and mod it later with MAME, etc ... funny thing is I found one arcade in Taiping using MAME in their cabinets.... Once you insert the credit, you can choose a game from the menu and play the game. |
