Why don't they sell US PS1/PS2 cry.gif
*
They prefer to get their stock from JPN I guess, but actually in many Asian country there are lots of US & PAL, PS1 & PS2 consoles in the circulation.

But I think a lot of people selling off their PS1 & PS2 in the garage sale forum, it shouldn't be too difficult to get one right ? 1 out of 5, I bet it's a US system. Unless you want it in a specific condition & completeness and certain more valuable PS1/ PS2 series tongue.gif

I'm ashamed I don't own a NES/Famicom after watching that blush.gif

NES is my first ever console that my dad bought me.

So I'm still quite attached to it since it gave me many gaming experience and memory, playing together with friends at that time.

What's your first ever console btw ?

Bro, u mean those made in china Mega Drive 2 consoles? I tried buying one of those last week, and to my horror, it is unable to play most of my MD cartridges (black blank screen). Even the AC Adaptor has a different power output and can't be used with my original Mega Drive 2 console.

Hmm... any idea why it can't play most of my MD games? Now I'm beginning to think that it could be most of my MD cartridges are already faulty. sigh..
*
Hi, is this the one with the built-in games ? because this copy looks almost exactly the same with the original, but with built-in games and no connector for sega mega cd expansion.

I would recommend to buy the original Mega drive though, it's still the best there is to play MD games with full compability.

so fake MD cant play ori MD cartridges izit?
*
The compability with the various version of MD carts is not good for the 3rd party MD console. I would suggest u getting the original MD console and this would have better compability towards any version of MD/ genesis (ori/ fake) carts (with converter needed for some carts).

Seeing you guys got the fake MD and due to compatibility issues, some fake games are readily available and here's my recommendation (from what I've seen in the market):

Contra Hard Corps
Castlevania Bloodlines
Yu Yu Hakusho
Gunstar Heroes
Shinobi 3
Sonic & Knuckles
*
Hi Gundam, that's the Sabah market isn't it ? not KL one tongue.gif

Yes, chronims. That's the one. It looks exactly like the MD2, but extremely lightweight and comes with built in 300++ games. laugh.gif Clearly there are no connectors for the Mega-CD expansion, hence it can't be connected to a Mega-CD and yet the box says so. doh.gif Well, can't complain much... Luckily it's cheap.
I'm still looking for an AC Adaptor with the exact 9V power rating output for my original Mega Drive 2 though.

EDIT: Correction, it's 10V, not 9V. Anyway, the AC Adaptor that came with the fake MD2 has a 10V output, but the connector doesn't seem to fit on my ori MD2.  rclxub.gif
*
Yes, one of the shops in Sungei Wang is still selling this. I have another fake version which has a very bad compability, so some of my carts can play, others cannot. But when I used the original console, it would play all the carts without problem rclxms.gif

I think the adapter can be used with ori MD2 (If it's AC to DC10V), you only need a converter for the input connector (different size) of the adapter. Note that DC9V is used for MD1, while DC10C for MD2. Also note that both MD adapter's current rating is 850mA.

gundam, thanks. So higher rating is ok, huh.  nod.gif I'm slightly busy these days. Only manage to visit the electronic store once, and that was a very brief visit as I was in a hurry. sad.gif  But now, since I already have an AC Adaptor from the fake MD2, I probably only need the converter connector as previously mentioned by chronims.
*
It;s basically a converter to adjust the head size of your adapter. I think your MD2 console should be fine with 1.2mA, but if higher than this I don't really recommend it as it may fry your console. Also after finish playing, better unplug the adapter so it will not become too hot. Hope it's helpful for u.

QUOTE(Thrust @ Apr 19 2009, 09:20 AM)
I still remember playing Dragon Ball Z on the Super Famicom. It's an RPG title with Japanese words (Card style battle) & not fighting style. Boy! I didn't know how I managed to finish that game without reading a single word tongue.gif It was a great game as it tells the story of Dragon Ball Z starting from Goku's brother from Planet Saiyan right till Goku becomes a Super Saiyan vs Fliza.

Damn, wondered where my console & those cartridges went???  doh.gif
*
Yes I agree with Gundam & Thrust. The DBZ Super famicom is one of the best I played during my youth time. I think even you cannot understand the language, but if you ever read Dragonball comics/ watch the movies then you know already the storyline. This game started when one of the Saiyan first visits earth (which is in fact Kakaruto's elder brother), and as you know he's surprised to find the earth still in one piece (have to read the story to know of course ..). So then he able to locate Goku using the power reader glass, although in the game we're the one that actually supposed to locate him ... and the story goes on until the big fight against the Freezer (in all forms of course). I always like the card which got the 'Z' sign which allow you to pull of special ability (like big kamehama, changed form, etc). Because every character has its own signature move thumbup.gif

No cure huh.. sad.gif But gotta watch my spendings. So tempted to bid on many auctions lately.. Gosh..

Hey! I remember playing that one with my brother! Can gimme gimme? tongue.gif
I think it's quite a good SF2 pirate port for the FC. Considering it's hardware limitation.

They also went a step further porting Mortal Kombat! Sick pirates...
Anymore unwanted pirate carts? Hehe..

Famicom Disk System will arrive tomorrow! Just can't wait...  drool.gif
*
Yes so many different ports or hacks for famicom. So they can have a totally new game or just a different versions of the original game. Usually they hack an existing game by changing its texts and picture arts. Last time I saw a website that teach you how to hack an aladdin to become a popeye famicom game brows.gif

As for fighting games, I think famicom is not a decent console to play on such games as it's still 8 bits. Better plays fighting games on MD, much2 better graphic and faster action or on super famicom.

The only exception for 8 bit game is I think the Street Fighter Championship edition for pc-engine as it plays better than the full 16-bit counterpart on MD tongue.gif

i still blow the carts if i play my megadrive and gba .lol . laugh.gif
talking about that , just downloaded double dragon and streets of rage for on the x360 arcade , now when will they have moonwalker for download .lol
*
Both Megadrive and GBA carts are still quite good actually, in terms of blowing the dust off. The NES connector plate is even worst as you required a lot of blowing, sometimes I even used a bit of alcohol. Strangely enough I don't have this problem on Famicom, which I guess the design is much better.

I haven't bought any PS2 Slim yet, mine is all Fat. The bad thing is nowadays the lens for the Fat is more expensive then the Slim, because the Fat one is already officially OOP.

Yup, I had 2 fats but one died and one sold. Now having 2 slims. The 90000 version sure look very different from my old slim
Yes it's ridiculously small indeed. The 90000 version surely will be one of the last PS2 console series. Considering PS2's lifespan of almost 10 year, it's definitely one of the best console ever produced. Imagine if Sony never went their own way and created the PS1 and PS2, Nintendo sure would dominate all the way. Now at the handheld department, Sony is also catching up with Nintendo. Don't we love competition ?

u need the cart not the rom izit?
*
You're talking about WII Virtual Console (VC), this is actually a software which has the ability to emulates games like PC-Engine, SNES and Megadrive. But it's not in the original ROM format though, so you can only play the games that are specially re-released for the VC.

While as for the 'true' retro gamers, they will feel more of the nostalgic feeling when playing with the original console. This is something that emulation cannot replace though icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup, for me it's a waste of money. I also have the same thought about all the on-line downloadable games. Better buy the 'real' thing that you can physically see and touch tongue.gif

I'm back to the 16-bit era of Megadrive & SNES, where games are still just plain & fun to play. In fact, I'm also currently keen on collecting these games. Mostly I'm playing beat'em ups, shmups & also strategy/ RPG games.

How about yourself Gundam ? which console/ games you're playing right now ?
