If you are a Nottingham student, you would have received the spam emails from the higher-up.
LOL! |

When do threads usually get closed off? Is there an "x number of pages" or"y number of posts" convention here? Otherwise, no idea.
Good luck all on exams, ya? |

Hey guys,
I thought that no 3 years Engineering courses are accredited anywhere in the world? Min of 4 yrs right? Anyway, if I did a 4 year MEng mechanical engineering course, can i still do a Master in Aerospace? |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Dec 30 2009, 09:01 PM) Hey guys, 3 years Engineering courses are accredited, but you will not be able to work towards Chartered, or in Malaysia context, become an Ir.I thought that no 3 years Engineering courses are accredited anywhere in the world? Min of 4 yrs right? Anyway, if I did a 4 year MEng mechanical engineering course, can i still do a Master in Aerospace? 3 years Engineering courses are accredited for one to become a registered/qualified engineering technician. If you wish to enrol into a postgraduate Master course which gives another specialisation, you could have just completed with BEng. IMHO, there is no point for you to complete a Master of Engineering then to do another master in aerospace studies. Bare in mind, with MEng in hand, you are a Master, despite an undergraduate one. If you still wish to find yourself accredited and get chartered, you can opt for a postgraduate qualification that is accredited as appropiate further study to attain chartered status. For instance, the MSc Mechanical Engineering - Aerospace is an accredited Master. If you did an accredited BEng followed by that, you will find no problem for yourself to get accredited. But getting accredited or not, there's another debate. In Malaysia, it doesn't make much difference. |

Thanks for your feedback. So which is better, get a 4year BEng + a 1year MSc abroad or straightaway get a 4year MEng? Accreditation to me is important since i'll most prolly migrate in future. 3 years Engineering courses are accredited for one to become a registered/qualified engineering technician. On another note, from previous posts, I gather you did your SAM and are currently doing your ENG in Nottingham. Why did you choose Nottingham over other unis like Monash? Also, what's the difference between a graduate who did a 4year BEng Aerospace and one who did a 4year BEng Mechanical + a one year MSc Aerospace? |
