Binding will be separate cost.

Depends on thickness of book.

It's either comb binding, which is about +/- RM5.00 per book (must use for large books)
Or normal staple binding with plaster, which is cheaper, should be around RM2.50 per book. (for thinner books)

The cost is approximately in that region, not more than RM5 per book. For exact pricing I will post it up on Sunday night.

Confirmed. You business student!

QUOTE(entryman @ Oct 20 2009, 11:32 PM)
Hey guys I just met with an unpleasant event today.

Near uni entrance gate, the "unofficial" alternative route into TTS.

About 80 meters away from the junction, I cut off some Indian ahpek on a motorcycle (who was in the middle of the left lane. It's just normal overtaking, as usual resulting from fast driving. Then wanted to turn into the junction. Then instead of turning in, I decided to just go to uni first, thus still keeping to the left most (emergency lane) while going slowly (coz just slowed down to turn).

*Note that this was still at about 30km/h only* Next thing I knew the fella was on my rear right speeding up honking me. I immediately threw a cocky face "what?!" while head bobbing up and down, the cocky way. And oh the nerves of him, wanted me to stop on roadside. So I just played on for few seconds letting him think that I would chicken out and stop. Then I sped up, cut him off again and turn into uni gates.

While checking out my rear mirror he stopped at uni gates and was making a fuss I guess. And of course, he knew better than driving straight through the gates and pass the guards tongue.gif

So everyone, a guide for you when on Malaysian road.

NEVER stop for anything. Even if it looks like a poor old old man asking for directions. Just speed up and go towards safety. Although you might feel guilty for not helping someone who was really in need, it's okay, coz you never know what might happen next, better safe than sorry.

*and if you do have connection with friendly thugs or high ranking police who are on call and can reach within a matter of minutes, then by all means, when you meet suckers like this: throw them a middle finger*
*
LOL, be careful to do the things in bold. You might get yourself caught into intentional accidents by the other party.

I don't get your story fully.
The person honking you is the Indian ahpek?

I don't see the motive of the others honking you. I do usually take the left most lane because there isn't the yellow stripes that make my car bumps (hate it!). But what's going on the other party?

EBB on the campus is alright for me, as now they give out free internet with low speed. Enough for normal browsing, but not for YouTube or downloading. But a good thing to help you not get carried away by internet while studying!

Its not free internet.
Everyone staying on campus has had their rentals jacked up by rm25 because of it
*
Yup, actually it's like they force you for an internet service and ask you to pay RM25 for it.
But, any new students coming in will not know about this.
They will just know about the new rates and be happy about the free service.

In fact, if you have been a SNS user last time, then it makes no difference to you because the fast speed subscription has reduced price of RM25 already.

Ugh, that sucks balls, mate. At least I'm off campus and on DiGi Campus plan, RM58/month only, and less finicky than the (*&(&6876 SNS. SNS NEVER seems to work where I stay.
*
That's because of its Wifi-ness. It's wired on campus, and it's still okay.
LOL, lucky!

Does the increase of rental affects off-campus as well?

was wondering is there any business foundation course in the uni ?

by the way ... how is the study environment ?
from what i know there isnt much entertaiment in semenyih rite ?
should be good for studies?

thnx smile.gif

You can look up the website on your own for the existence of the Foundation in Business/Management.

Study environment wise, there is really not much entertainment, or to say, zero entertainment if you don't happen to play sports.
LOL.. Ok la, still got internet which can bring you some entertainment, but you want clubbing all that, you need a car, and time to travel there.
Even to go to shopping malls by public transport is a big pain!
Think wise, you definitely wish to have a university life with wonderful colours!

UNMC Wifi Users Update -- IS will be stirring quite a commotion.

QUOTE(IS)
Dear All UNMC Wireless Laptop Users,

This is to inform that starting next Tuesday, 3rd November, we will be implementing the Bradford network appliance on our wireless network (UNMC) in Semenyih Campus (KLTC is excluded). All Windows and Mac laptop users will need to go through Registration of laptop and Installation of Bradford Agent in order to connect to the wireless network. The attached document is a step by step process. Kindly do as instructed which is only required to be done once.

If you use other mobile devices (e.g. PDAs) to connect to our wireless network, you will not need to do the attached. However, you will need to provide your MAC addresses of your mobiles devices to ITSupport@nottingham.edu.my in order for us to allow connectivity of these devices to our wireless network. If you face difficulty and require help, please bring your mobile devices to the IS Office starting next Tuesday and we will assist you on the matter.

Time for *ahem* covert channels.
*
What for?
I thought the TISCRA is now easily flooded with people and more people prefer to bring their own laptops, and IS decides with things like this.
And I need to go IS once for my N82. LOL..

And sometimes if we have to use the WiFi in urgency but have yet to register at nights, what can we do?

Time to convert to Linux ?

Added on October 30, 2009, 10:15 pmThis is bad... real bad.. according to the site above posted by experience, it allows network administrators (to a certain extent) to monitor your surfing activities and internet usage trends.. and then take action if it violate the university's internet use policy..  Somebody find a loophole please, LOL
*
Where is the CS students? It's their time to contribute to the university!
LOL..

You know every week, I have a lecture in the Engineering Computer Labs, and that 2-hour session is where I get my anime where I am following! The speed is like 300kB/s and it takes about 20 minutes for a HD 24-minute anime! Now I will be monitored!

And what, you know, I just found a mobile browser that supports flash, where I can play the flash games on Facebook. And I don't expect the university to know. How will this Bradford thingy work?

Aw...
Anyone with any ideas to fight this off?

I use those free file host, megaupload, rapidshare etc.
Prepare those because of stable speed and IS doesn't block them. Perhaps they allow that because some of the e-books are hosted there?

You know, I tried download using my phone, but apparently my phone can't take 300mb of a file at once.

I like direct downloads too, but some of the file hosts are really-- headache inducing. Very frustrating. Especially with Megaupload, RS, etc. And when the file disappears overnight.... But I agree, direct downloads is still one of the most reliable methods. At least with IRC the file won't vanish on you, and books are fast-- songs slower, but some things that you can't get anywhere else, is up on IRC.
*
The only thing I find frustrated on megaupload, rapidshare is that the download slot is taken by others. So I usually opt for less known file host like hotfile, despositfile etc.

BTW, haven't been lucky with IRC that my experience with it was somehow bad.

I believe this Bradford thing will be installed in the university computers as well. Aw, let's see how smart the software is.

Do they get to monitor our browsing history as well?

omg, to think I'll see the day...
I doubt students in nottingham will go quiet about this.
Anyone wanna start a protest?
*
I don't think so. How many of them actually cares about that?
How many of them actually uses the WiFi in Nottingham?
Alright, certainly, there are large users group in using the TISCRA (which I believe the Bradford will lay themselves on as well), but they are using the university computers, they can't complain much.

What I worry is how many things they can do on our MAC address, which is unique to our machine.

Alright, is there any way where we can spam while not getting caught by the IS?

Also, we may want to find supports from SA as well. Perhaps some voices from the hall residents through the Hall Committee can be effective, too. (They are quite active these days with Broga Hill Hike Malacca Trip. LOL!)

I have seen emails that try to send emails to everyone. Basically, they just send to Engineering all students, NUBS all students, Pharmacy all students etc.
Do IS actually check those emails out?
(I think we can't send to 'All students', can we?)

Or we should get support from the staff/lecturers. Want to work it out?

Earlier this year if you logged in to the University's network on your own machine thepiratebay.com and other torrent tracking site URLs weren't blocked. Nowadays they are. IS got smart already. LOL

They block social networking? What social networking sites do they block? Facebook? Twitter? I don't think Twitter is blocked-- I was on UNMC network week before last and Twitter still worked.
*
Some of the forum sites they classify under social networking. Several forum sites of several facebook game got blocked on that reason.

Out of great boredom in lecture today, I took out my phone to try to get online, and apparently, I get to online without much registration. I just key in my username and password (different page than what we usually key into the white background page), and proceed then I get myself to the white background page and there I go with my online experience.

Have they acquired my MAC address so easily?
