Mr Machie

buy hygrometer to check if got money, or buy water sprayer below rm5

For me i base from my sense. Always spray and wet 1 SIDE of my tank but do not wet the soil to keep moisture. My leaves i kept it dry though. I also checked the soil and make sure is not too dry nor soaking wet by touching it; spary if needed. I house my scorpion in a small container but enuf space for it to move around so is easier to control and contain moisture.

If you see fungus growing mean to wet.. and leave it to dry or change substrate...so just checked everyday until ur comfortable bout controlling moisture

i hope it helps. If you look for exact measurement i am sorry i cant provide. Just do some test and gain some experience. Don be afraid.

Thank for the info.

I heard that FA scorpions need 80% moisture.
Therefor, i bought a hygrometer and tried to maintain it at 80%. =D

But.. I pur water on it nearly daily!
The thing that i am just afraid is that i will drown the scorpling! >.<

how much u pay for the hygrometer?

by the way, i read up if its very damp, your scorpion might grow fungus. So beware. I prevent it by always keeping 1 cornor dry for them to hide.

glad to share.

I bought it for around RM49.90.
It is as shown in the pic i posted on page 55.

I see..
I just bought some fine coco fiber and i replaced it with the one shown in the pic..
The amount of coco fiber i added is roughly around 5 cm height.
Then the water i added is around 2cm height. (in the coco fiber)

Is this okay?

As tepat as it gets. I got mine off pet Safari back then when I was keeping hermit crabs. Less than RM 10. I take it out to sun and dry sometimes (too humid encourages fungus growth ma). The hygrometer will rise and drop according to how dry the weather is and when raining will have higher humidity lo.

This is the only hygrometer that i could find in Penang so far.
So i just bought it since i am worried that i might provide a unsuitable environment for my scorplings. tongue.gif

Digital ones tend to be a lot more accurate. The RM 10 ones has a kind of metal in the center that kinda stretches and vice versa depending on humidity. So the accuracy will definitely be slightly off (not sure by how much la but it does change depending on humidity).

And digital ones of course last longer. The back of the RM 10 one has been stuck with a double sided like tape. So if you remove it often you have to change it often. And tanks with high humidity cause the cupboard like material to grow soft and even have fungus growing on it after a long long usage (unless your tank dry then it's fine).

For moisture, 80% is okay right?
And for Temperature, is 28 - room temperature okay?

Dude, mach.. dont need to worry about humidity/temperature thingy. Just keep it in your room and spray once or twice every few days.
