Exactly! I bought parts to build my GC but was put onhold due to the power supply issues. Darn expensive that darn toroidal transformers! mad.gif
In the end, I gotta build the T-Amp wink.gif Cheaper and faster laugh.gif

Still I would want to complete building the GC and see how it would fare to the T-Amp.. wink.gif

QUOTE(xtorm @ Sep 3 2008, 12:29 PM)
GC kind cheap too...but the only overkill is the power supply part...

haha yea...very cheap solution

well from review mostly mention slightly wider soundstage and thicker sounding, which i think it is why it sounded natural.

duno if the balance thingy have the same effect...

How expensive can it be when for that size it delivers the huge output power compared to E-core?.
When doing DIY projects, one is not suggested to stinge too much or much will be compromised. I always advise DIY wannabe's.. Be prepared with a 30-50% overbudget for contigency...otherwise DON'T!..

jazzy and the rest ...... why choose metal casing.....I suggest that you guys shift to wooden box. Much more easy to handle and looks classic, not to mention wood got some WAF (wife approval factorwhat ever you called).... biggrin.gif

btw just tested the t-amp in my friend's car, all he can say is wow, a rm99 speaker set and a rm150 head unit, why he needs my t-amp?

cos his amplifier was stolen, an oldschool 4 channel sony, it was around 1k last time!! so sad man...

so gona build him a sleeper...hahaha, rm100 9tim with a much better sound then his rm1k amp smile.gif

but 1 thing tho...his head unit is giving out alot of aeroplane noise, any filter i can use to cut tht?

gabanyayaya,
good idea but... may need getting used to! tongue.gif Where to get the wooden box then? wink.gif

xtorm,

Yar lor... Its just a hobby.. we take it one day at a time.. sometimes may takes longer than that! wink.gif

goto almost max the head unit for really loud listening, which is kinda unbearable, max volume 63, we on till 60 tak boleh tahan the ear tongue.gif...but his cd player is low end type, so output voltage so so only, andthis wasnt active setup, just plain component speaker with crossover, he is definitely edicted! but goto solve the aeroplane sound issue....
i think pretty much t-amp limit, ngam ngam

i got a damn noisy car too, was into performance last time tongue.gif but its still loud enough...

xtorm,
if the 'aeroplane' sound is coming even while the headunit is on car battery, then sad to say nothing much you can do except changing the headunit! tongue.gif
Nothing much either if the car sound proofing is also not so good.. but this you can do something about it.. wink.gif

Aha! Then it's coming from the electrical system when the engine is running.. many things could contribute to this, from alternator to distributor.. tongue.gif
do you intend to rectify this yourself or take to wireman or car audio equipment installers?tongue.gif

too quiet ler.. nothing to contribute? Y.C. and ongbs must be fully occupied with work.. and Y.C.'s lappy probably is still full of those malware/trojans/syware and what nots.. tongue.gif

YEah.. there's one capacitor/filter supposed to be installed at the distributor..
I think this 'aeroplane sound' will increase proportionally with engine RPM, right? tongue.gif

Haven't power up? Waiting for the 'rosewood' jewellery box to arrive?.. hahahahaha laugh.gif
