i cant seem to download apt and cydia

Have the exact same problem when i was trying to install open SSH few days past, keep timeout on me, just keep reinstall and have ur finger on the screen to prevent screen shut down

have patience, it will redownload from where it disconnected, unless u shut down cydia

Yup I'm using streamyx (and sometimes my EDGE connection). Both don't have problem in installing or reading from any of the repo.

I have a 'guide' that maybe can help you guys but it's a bit technical. Basically Cydia is the frontend or GUI for apt-get. You can manually install or update any package as you like.

First method might help you in refreshing the Cydia. Both method requires you to have at least Mobile Terminal installed in your phone (if got SSH lagi bagus).

1. Manually refresh Cydia
- Open Mobile Terminal and use the 'SU' command or connect to phone thru putty or terminal.
- Type in "apt-get update"
- This will refresh the list from all the repo.
- Open Cydia

2. Manually installing apps from terminal or putty
- Open Mobile Terminal and use the 'SU' command or connect to phone thru putty or terminal.
- Type in "apt-get install openssh" if you want to install OpenSSH


Since there's a problem with ispazio repo, i've been using the 1st method to manually refresh the repo. Then i would open Cydia and no more timeout or problem.

This method might help if you have Mobile Terminal (it's a must for me) installed .

1. Open Mobile Terminal @ PuTTY @ Terminal
2. Type in "apt-get upgrade"
3. That should upgrade the APT and Cydia Installer for you.

Thanx for the tips... Just upgrade my iphone 2.2.1 last night and find this problem... I taught i need to restore back my iphone... Will try ur tips afterward...
(Got the stress already)...

i did a full restore after updated to 2.2.1 too only to realize it's not the problem with my phone.

when d/loading apps from cydia got apt-get error
i done triple yet the prob is there
i think its the pwnage poblem or might cydia
but i still manage to d/load the apps i needed

iHome: New Touchscreen Gestures to Replace button Home

iHome is a new application that allows us to make the most of the beautiful display of our iPhone or iPod Touch, by replacing, through various gestures, combined with the key features Home.




1. If we're at the last page of Springboard, we can return to first just moving your finger to the left.

2. If we are in EDIT mode with icons that vibrate, moving the finger to the left, stop the Wiggling.

3. With a long slide onto screen from left to right, puts the iPhone on the screen Lockscreen and the display will shut off.

4. A small slide to the right will display a pop-up with various options: Lock, Respring, Reboot, Power Off.

5. When we are in applications such as Safari or iPod / Music, we can move the finger to the left to display a pop-up to return to Home, click play or cancel.

hmm i try the terminal method, seems it has chances of getting complete d/load compare to the normal click method. but yet, sometimes need to keep trying also.. still have the stuck d/load or posix error.. sigh

Yup the terminal is the best to clear up this cydia problems...
It should work for all 2.2.1 out there...

BTW, at first, dont know how to do.. but after google around..
Here goes nothing...

1. type "su" hit return
2. it will ask ur password for root.. default "alpine" hit return
3. type "apt-get update"
4. Done..
5. Try ur Cydia right away, it should be able to work.

Hey my cydia is having the same problem as u guys since yesterday...
Until now still cannot..keep showing host unreachable..
But i didn't install mobile terminal..now i can't install it even if i want to..
How?

just keep on trying and trying
mobile terminal does download but the speed is super slow
and it might just stopped suddenly so there's a probability out of all the tried u gave it

Having the same problems. Just upgraded my sister's iphone to 2.2.1, such bad timing. When is it up again?

iHome is cool...my home button is acting strange and this app is a gem!

It doesn't even move an inch already say host unreachable ler...

It works now, like a charm

just thought the old one better...
