Some do it as a refresher dive, some do it to check their equipment, some do it to practice, some. Sometimes we do to take photos.

According to that, it's around RM110/dive if we do the 5 dives package. Include equipment somemore, quite cheap already if you ask me.

QUOTE(jakesean @ Aug 23 2012, 11:44 AM) anyone know whether Pusat Akuatic Darul Ehsan is still operating? sms the person in charge but no reply.. probably still raya.. Probably still on raya break. There's only the malay guy working there only so still probably off. The last I check, I think around May or June, it's still operating. Call him up and make appointment before going cause sometimes he won't be there. |

QUOTE(jakesean @ Aug 23 2012, 12:23 PM) i see.. so you've been there before? hows the pool condition like? is it always packed? Yea been there few times already. I posted the link to their website with the rates earlier. was checking the rates, but last updated was 2008.. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/761856/+1640# Pool condition quite dirty. You'll be using the diving pool so it's not the same pool as public. Only divers will be there and also sometimes they have the synchronize swimming practices and pool volleyball guys doing warm up there also. So sometimes get to hear music while underwater and see the guys throwing each other into the pool lol. Toilet very dirty. I usually don't shower there admit house nearby. |

QUOTE(zizdnyll @ Aug 27 2012, 06:56 PM) monsoon season already start in september ? how's the condition in tioman end of september? iread the divetioman web , it said that the water will be very clear august-november? I'll be going to Tioman (and parts of Dayang) LOB for the coming Malaysia day weekend. From what I was told, Tioman won't get monsoon so fast, it'll start earlier at Redang area then Tioman there September, October also quite good. I went to Dayang in mid November last 2 years and diving was awesome, other than the part where the wind was so blady strong on the last night and the roof of the dorm we were living in (and everything hanging outside) got blown off on our last night, plus it was raining so the mattresses and almost everything was wet. But it was worth it cause got whale shark. |

QUOTE(numblink @ Aug 27 2012, 10:21 PM) How much LOB? Paid RM1000 for Kaleebso LOB 3D3N with unlimited dives. Honestly, I've no idea and experience on LOB and this will actually be my first time going for LOB. Quite excited. I just hope I won't get sea sick. Lol. |

QUOTE(zizdnyll @ Aug 27 2012, 11:20 PM) talking about seasick , you should ask me .. im a seaman I get seasick quite easily. Thanks for the tips, I'll bring along some biscuits to fill my stomach if I'm feeling seasick. I heard Kaleebso food is 5 star food, if the sea is bad then I can't enjoy the food already. QUOTE(blackwhitechipsKL @ Aug 28 2012, 01:21 AM) although unlimited dives, most probably you'll be doing max 5 dives a day including a night dive. more than that really overkill lah. i did LOB with Wave Breaker twice, and twice also pass by Kaleebso. QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Aug 28 2012, 01:43 AM) I did max 7 dives in a day when I was in Sipadan. After shower in the evening still manage to drag myself to dinner then drop dead on the bed after that. But yea, max 4-5 dives per day is just nice. |

QUOTE(digitalz @ Aug 28 2012, 11:12 AM) The other day only I posted in H&F thread about the non-drowsy motion sickness pills. Try Stugeron 25mg So far it has been working good for me and no drowsiness. Got it from Guardian pharmacist. It's more expensive than the common Novomin. Novomin makes me sleep straight away for at least 3 hours lol. Added on August 28, 2012, 11:21 am QUOTE(numblink @ Aug 28 2012, 11:02 AM) 7 dives a day.... Yes of course! Very very hungry! I also eat a lot after diving. Tired and hungry. That's why people always say eat, sleep, dive. Lol. This post has been edited by munkeyflo: Aug 28 2012, 11:21 AM |

QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Aug 28 2012, 12:03 PM) My friend, a divemaster from japan who work at Laguna Redang for 1 year has passed away at Crystal Bay, Nusa Penida yesterday. So for those who visit any place in Nusa Penida, please beware on tide and timing to see Mola-Mola. Yes I heard about the news yesterday and realise same name with the DM who used to worked at Laguna, so check with Master Liu and he confirmed it's her. So sad to hear about it. Such a young diver somemore. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2012/08...rystal-bay.html Hope she RIP. Added on August 28, 2012, 12:13 pm QUOTE(numblink @ Aug 28 2012, 11:38 AM) I saw a lot divers in the island are fat Actually if you work on the island, also hard to get fat la. You'll have to carry tanks here and there also. Hard work, eat a lot. This post has been edited by munkeyflo: Aug 28 2012, 12:13 PM |

QUOTE(chastise @ Aug 29 2012, 12:05 PM) Ooh Siput! I dived with them at Dayang too last 2 years back and that's when we saw the whale shark. Awesome people to dive with. But IMO, too big group, then again, Dayang always need big group cause need to book the whole hotel or something. QUOTE(miuk @ Aug 29 2012, 02:50 PM) Really weird huh, both very experienced professional divers. Maybe they went deeper than the rest of the group to look for Mola2? Yea it's her. Putra also said its her. Added on August 29, 2012, 3:01 pm You sure its her? MUW and ScubaSG says its another person and the Jakartapost said that it was a new diver. It seems she has been working and diving at Laguna redang but she has not been diving for very long, hence maybe why they said she was a new diver. But she is definitely not a beginner. |

Came back from LOB Kaleebso on Monday. 3D3N on the boat, accommodation was very basic, some rooms for 3 some 4 and one room for 8, 2 toilets, 20 divers. Food was awesome, had salmon sashimi and all sorts of good food. On the last day they were fishing sotong as well and we had sotong sashimi, sotong tempura, sotong fried rice and all sotong.
Only went around Tioman, nothing much to see honestly. Vis was so-so, current quite calm except one dive was really strong. Went to KM Sipadan Wreck, had to do the dive at 7.30am before any other divers come, deep but nothing much to see also. Lots of nudibranch. At some dive sites, the corals were quite nice. Overall, a good experience to go thru. The next LOB I wanna go will be either in Thailand or Maldives. |

QUOTE(miuk @ Sep 19 2012, 11:43 AM) Just wondering, how to sign up for kaleebso? My friends tells me usually its chartered out every weekend to different groups, so if you know the group then you join. Any way for a solo diver to join? Yea my friend organized the trip and we joined. We had to pay deposit to book the place months ago. I think early this year we already confirm the booking. If not its fully booked every weekend. I'm not sure about solo divers. It seems the captain is not full time on kaleebso. He does have a sales job during the weekdays and does kaleebso on the weekend. You can always contact them on their website as chastise has mentioned above. It also seems the captain wanna retire in a few years time. |

QUOTE(GNR @ Sep 19 2012, 05:59 PM) Did you happen to dive at Phi Phi Islands? Based on South Siam Divers website, they don't seem to dive at Phi Phi (weird). I am going there next year in Jan. My dive instructor recommended that I dive there. I know it's a little more expensive due to the longer boat ride time to get there. But if that place is much better than the other sites. I don't mind paying. Nope, I didn't dive at Phi Phi island. Sorry can't help you there. Anybody else here have dived at Phi Phi? How is it compared to the other sites like king cruiser, anemo reef, shark point, racha yai etc? Anything special about Phi Phi that is worth going and paying for the extra cost? |
