Thanks for your applause bro. notworthy.gif
I'm only trying to learn more about Juniper. But all my Juniper materials are either too young or too raw at the moment.
BTW, you are welcome to drop by my place during any weekend, I still got lots of FOC stock to clear.

That's great offer bro! I'll arrange a day. The few plants that thrive at your place not working well under my care. The boxwood also didn't make it. Only the 2 fruit trees, mulberry & cherry going strong.
One question, I always wonder does morning & evening only sunlight make any difference to the plants?
*
thumbup.gif

In my opinion, it does has difference effects on difference species of plants.
Like Boxwood, if you are able to shelter off the afternoon 2-3 hours of hot flaming sun, it will definitely grows well.
In the case of Wrighthia, mulberry, west Indian cherry, Murray and all those hot tropical species, hot full day sunlight will definitely required for healthy growth.
As for Juniper shimpaku and Chinese black pine, I find that the morning to mid day 6 hours of sunlight is essential, besides, these coniferous species required airy environment in order to have healthy growth.

Hi, I am new to bonsai.
I would like to start with Japanese Black Pine, do you guys got any idea on how to get the seed ?
*
thumbup.gif

Japanese Black Pine is one of most difficult species to start with in our hot region.
I would say start off with some tropical species like boxwood, Wrighthia (i.e shui mei ) Fukien Tea or Buddha pine which is easy to manage.
However it doesn't mean that you cannot start with JBP. You can buy JBP seed online but it's very sure that the seeds won't germinate in our hot weather.
Perhaps you can first buy JBP or Chinese Black Pine ('cos they are from China) from plant and bonsai nurseries and try to keep it alive in your environment before moving to the next step.

Thanks for the applause.

The main stem is too long, will have to cut it shorter when the bloom is over.

Chinese Elm Wind Swept Styling

Managed to get this one looks somehow like a wind swept style.
Probably need another 3-4 years before it can be considered as a good decent wind swept bonsai.

Cascading from grown up material.

This West Indian Cherry was potted a year ago. It looks unhealthy and uninteresting.

However, there is an interesting branch....

[attachmentid=3661631] [attachmentid=3661633]

A good semi cascading material.
