Cascading Chinese Banyam or Ficus Microcarpa
The black tall plastic pot looks right to suit but it's too light and topple easily.
Re potted in a ceramic cascading pot. Looks not quite suitable, but that's the only pot I have in hand.

Wrighthia Trees Group Wind Swept Style. This pot of young Wrighthia, was unintentionally placed against the fencing wall for about 3 years. After 2 hours of careful wiring and defoliation .... looks something like it ...placed on a piece of tile.. It's time to look for a suitable flat pot. Any suggestion ??? QUOTE(anevilx @ Jul 24 2013, 01:32 PM) Hi all, a newbie's question.. Can I defoliate ALL the leaves from a very small "bonsai gonna be" plant to ensure it will grow a smaller leave ? will this action makes the tree dying? thx a lot You can do that unless your small"bonsai gonna be" got a strong root ball. |

QUOTE(anevilx @ Jul 25 2013, 09:22 AM) owh nice explanation! I dun think my baby have that kind of ball yet. some thing happened last evening when I am trying to bend the small tree (to look for suitable position to wired it up). suddenly there is a crack sound..and..its broken.. but I believe she will survive. Bend and crack the tree branches or stem is quite common. why not post up some photos, maybe some one can give some suggestion to save your tree. |

Wrighthia Re-pot. I remember I posted this Wrighthia sometimes back, but just couldn't find it in the old posts. Anyway this was how it look like many years back. It looks more like a bonsai now but I decided to take one more step before planting it into a shorter suitable bonsai pot. A satisfactory result after many years but the ultimate expectation has yet been achieved. This post has been edited by Bonsailelong: Jul 28 2013, 02:12 PM |

Thanks to the long weekend, I'm able to do some maintenance to some of my long ignored Wrigthia. This is another small Wrigthia tree group and this time is curly business. The red arrow shows a member of this tree group is actually under size and doe not give a balance feeling. ..got a replacement some where in my garden... |

Hi Guys, Sorry no update last weekend. Too busy travelling around. ..and Hi Zabel, That old juniper is definitely a good buy. I suggest you just clean up its trunk, transfer it to a bigger pot and let it grows more before doing any styling. And this one, cascading is not bad. And mind I give you a little suggestion. ![]() Good luck! |

I realized that I don't actually have a suitable pot for it only after I have dug it up. .....this one... better than nothing ..and a decent looking Fukien Tea bonsai Another Fukien Tea from my yard. |
