see how la, actually, second hand thingy. if u get from trusted person, i dun think why not. plus, with second hand u can save a lot of $, and you can always consider the warranty etc before making a purchase

second hand 40D body onli, RM2999 used onli 1 month, like new, shutter less than 5k, will you consider?  brows.gif
*
That's right actually but only applicable if you trust the person. Most of the time, I am skeptical unless I know the dude well enough to credit him as honest person.

Of course you must consider! Good deal ma. Save Rm300++

QUOTE(kennji @ Aug 27 2008, 12:00 PM)
oh yea a reminder to penny, do you really need the raynox's 5x or 25x magnification? its actually very hard to use one ler...the 1:1 from the macro lens is more than enough! thats what i think la...
*
I'm just saying it. I've never even seen a Raynox filter, so I'll probably check it out when the days come closer when I have cash to splurge again! smile.gif Haha...

QUOTE(CincauHangus @ Aug 27 2008, 12:04 PM)
about my lens, i feel it's not the shop's fault because they buy old lens and then sell it out again.. i'm an optimist but yeah tongue.gif

ahh.. hmm what about wide angle lens? If i should settle for one, which focal range would be good? are there any wide angle macro lens?

QUOTE(SkyBlue®)
Aiks what happen to your 17-85mm? why need to go ICU so often?

rather unfortunate actually.. my friend told me that that particular lens (efs 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS) has quite a number of problems, particularly the aperature blades where it jams up once in while. so when i zoom in fully, sometimes i cant out again coz it's jammed. so yeah. sad.gif i'm thinking of getting rid of it, and get another lens..

was thinking of a 17-50mm f2.8 tamron but the same friend said, although it's a fast lens, it's just a normal lens. i'm better off with something higher. any suggestions regarding this?
*
Oic, well, I'm not an optimist, quite skeptical but if you have no regrets, I think is ok. I dont think there's any wide angle macro lens, I will leave that out for some other vet to answer you.

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 27 2008, 12:27 PM)
i don't read japanese, but i'm assuming on that page that the logic of stating 50D, 50D and 18-200IS and 50D and 17-85 IS in 3 consequtive lines kinda shows the package. smile.gif

http://cweb.canon.jp/newsrelease/2008-08/pr-eos50d.html

what about you guys?
*
I think you're right, one of the package comes with 50D + 18-200 IS. Wow weee... I wonder how much it cost. Maybe near 7k? Or cecah 7k?

QUOTE(kennji @ Aug 27 2008, 12:29 PM)
aiyo...you sure u read the correct link ka? although its in japanese, it clearly states that the 50D is offered in 3 packages:

Ok, rephrase? Standard range for the 50D icon_idea.gif

I know it's not worth it and I dont have another 2k to add for 50D so I will wait for 60D / 70D. Not that I'm damn good photographer also, give 50D also shoot like PnS camera. Skills tarak.

20D/30D/40D to 50D is not an upgrade. they are all semi pro dslr. i would only consider full frame as an upgrade from X0D series. tongue.gif

@pennywise,

if you want to follow the trend of the techs, you can't follow it. just shot more pictures now. no more theory or debate of what and which better. post more of you pics here and use your 40D to max. if you want high tech. go to the highest range one. 1D Mark III if you want.

Yea, that's true too. The video-man would do a better job, definitely and we dont have that many storage space to record the videos anyway.

Yea, I am aware I cannot follow it, else I'd drop my 40D yesterday and go for 50D. Just want to hear opinions since my heart memang got goyang a bit when I read about 50D but I know damn well I cannot follow tech with a pocket my size (small sized pocket / wallet).

Thanks for advising anyway. smile.gif

GILA!!!!!! i check out his camera and he is using only 40D.. and from what i know, 40D where got weather seal.. somemore he is using some third party lens only, so, if im not mistaken, the lens also got no weather seal.. doh.gif

I don't know, but when I used my friend's camera under the rain (30D) unprotected, I just quickly put in the dry box, set on 80% power and next day still working...
But of course it was raining but not heavy at all...
