Well, I've gotten used to it, played for like 11 hours, with dinner breaks in between, no problem.

Just tried out Microsoft intellimouse 3.0. Can consider even not ss edition, but same la LOL.
First of all, the built quality of the mouse isnt really good. Feel like chapalang. And im noob to this mouse. It is possible to adjust polling rate and dpi for the mouse? I experienced screen lag while using 3.0. But smooth with da and ikari. btw I rate the 3.0 Feel : 9/10 Quality build : 6/10 Performance : 11/10 Features : 6/10( if can adjust dpi and polling rate, 9/10) This post has been edited by mois: Oct 7 2008, 05:56 PM |

Q: What is the difference between Ikari Laser and Ikari Optical?
A: The SteelSeries Ikari Optical is a mouse that's perfectly suited for FPS players. The optical sensor is well proven and can track even when moving the mouse at an extremely high speed when playing on a very low sensitivity. It's a very simple mouse where the focus was clearly on performance in games like Counter-Strike. The Ikari Laser is made for all of the MMO/RTS players that need high precision at a rather high sensitivity. It's not made for extremely fast movements of the hand (and by that we really mean EXTREMELY FAST). It offers a LCD , on the fly CPI switching and macro functionalities which can be programmed with the software. So if I'm a FPS player Ikari Optical is the mouse to get instead of Laser? But I've read some reviews and they claimed that Laser is better than Optical in FPS, so who's right? |

If your fine with the HUGE liftoff, the go ahead and get ikari optical, you'll be very pleased with it, if you have the extra dough to spare and want the most responsive, consistant, and accurate sensor, go for the laser~

They even mentioned that Ikari Laser "it's not made for extremely fast movements of the hand", if Ikari Laser is so good on FPS they should promote it as mouse for FPS instead of RTS/MMO right. |

Yeah it is~ ^^
Clavin, your right, liftoff distance = distance when the mouse stops tracking when you lift it~ Hit able, my opinion, yes, the ikari optical is made for fast movements, but they place the sensor in a vertical position, so it can track really fast but u have to lift the mouse really high for it to stop tracking, results a lost in reaction time, the laser, can track at an already impressive speed, you wont be able to make it skip, but however some people who play at extremely low sensitivity makes it skip~ Certainly not you =P |

Yes, a huge liftoff is generally bad for gaming, lower is better, and the liftoff on the optical with my destructor is like 7mm, horrible...
Whil the laser at most is 2mm~ My review not out yet lol! I only got a broken optical with me at the moment, the destributer havent pass me my items, said he will arrange his time... Added on October 7, 2008, 8:27 pmOh forgot to answer ur 2nd questions, generally the term skip mean's tracking problems... For example, the cursor moves randomly when u move your mouse too fast, or it stops tracking~ This post has been edited by somiao5625: Oct 7 2008, 08:27 PM |

Nop, the light source is very strong it tracks really well!
But, when, lets i say i move my mouse to the end of my mousepad, i dont have and more space for me to move the muse, hence i'll lift the mouse and reposition it in the centre of the mouse pad right? The problem is, when i reposition my mouse, my cursor moves because the sensor tracks even after i lift it above for a fair distance... Hope you understand my geek words... |

hmm my sensi is low and my mouse is the big ass juggernaut barracuda. even when i lift off, it doesn't really track or don't track at all. maybe your lift off is too low for an average gamer?
