Q: What is the difference between Ikari Laser and Ikari Optical?
A: The SteelSeries Ikari Optical is a mouse that's perfectly suited for FPS players. The optical sensor is well proven and can track even when moving the mouse at an extremely high speed when playing on a very low sensitivity. It's a very simple mouse where the focus was clearly on performance in games like Counter-Strike. The Ikari Laser is made for all of the MMO/RTS players that need high precision at a rather high sensitivity. It's not made for extremely fast movements of the hand (and by that we really mean EXTREMELY FAST). It offers a LCD , on the fly CPI switching and macro functionalities which can be programmed with the software. So if I'm a FPS player Ikari Optical is the mouse to get instead of Laser? But I've read some reviews and they claimed that Laser is better than Optical in FPS, so who's right? |

QUOTE(somiao5625 @ Oct 7 2008, 06:54 PM) If your fine with the HUGE liftoff, the go ahead and get ikari optical, you'll be very pleased with it, if you have the extra dough to spare and want the most responsive, consistant, and accurate sensor, go for the laser~ Then why does SS still claim Ikari Optical perfectly suited for FPS? They even mentioned that Ikari Laser "it's not made for extremely fast movements of the hand", if Ikari Laser is so good on FPS they should promote it as mouse for FPS instead of RTS/MMO right. |
