well, it's better to be underexposed than overexposed =p underexposed the shadow and highlights can be adjusted whereas overexposed can't recover much from its blown highlights.

can post some pics showing underexposure?
*
Well, I overexposed most of my night scenes and the IA underexpose the rest of my day scenes ....
So the 400 shots I took ... most of them went down the drain LOL !

Here's a sample. I think it's slightly underexposed... Many others are 2 times worse than this ...

Anyways ... Is the lenspen good ?? Do I need to replace the pen if it's dirty?

Haha I can't be bothered by morning shots so I just set IA and shoot away. laugh.gif

I'll be more careful and try out other metering options next time.

need some help on the setting from you sifus, How do I get my shutter speed to above 1 second for night shots?
even at [P] setting it won't let me go slower than 1 second.
*
If you limit your ISO at P mode and depending on the lighting around. The shutter speed will decrease.

But if you wanna set it yourself, go to S (Shutter Priority) or M (Manual).

I tried the Nikon DSLR that has Max Aperture of f3.7 to take pictures of my LX3 ...
I forgot the model but it's quite a cheap DSLR

Guess what, I have difficulties shooting good photos without turning on the flash.
But if I turn on the flash I can't put the camera too near because the lens would block some flash light. laugh.gif

Here's my advice, DON'T GET A CHEAP DSLR. LOL!

What I see here is that it isn't the DSLR that is causing the problem, but you don't know how to utilize it properly.
What's more the aperture depends on the lens used.  yawn.gif  yawn.gif
*
Oh, so you would suggest Ppsprov to get a DSLR at the same price of the LX3, then get the lens (a few hundred bucks) just to match/beat LX3's performance?

That's very bright of you laugh.gif

Nah, a good lens would prolly set him back a couple thousand bucks.
I'm just saying you're not utilizing the cheap DSLR properly  laugh.gif

LOL there you go ... a few thousand bucks laugh.gif

Well I tried my best to be honest. The standard lens limit me to capture without flash in low lights. If you would offer some advice I would greatly appreciate it laugh.gif

Currently I'm living in Australia, I will back to Msia next month.
I wanna to ask how much DMW-CLX3 selling in Malaysia?
Does anyone can answer me question?
*
Price ranges from 1550 to 1700+ depending on the freebies you're getting.

It's going to be more expensive in Australia. But do note that if you buy within 1 month before departure. You can claim back GST from the camera.

EDIT: at the airport smile.gif

Well, if we say the LX3 is better, u might think we r giving biased opinions right?
Why not u try looking at the photos taken by fellow LX3 users here and decide for urself?
And if u really need 3rd party opinions, why not go google it up or read dpreview's LX3 review which has very detailed comparisons between the LX3, Canon's G10 and Nikon's P6000.

LOL If you wanna get the P6000 you might as well just get the canon G10

Mate, I doubt those bags are good enough. Search for Lowerpro Edit 100. There are plenty of space inside the main pouch and lots of smaller pockets around you can put all your accessories in eg. charger, extra bat, extra sdcard. I'm currently using it and I'm very very happy with it.

Comes with both zip and sticking cover (I forgot the term doh.gif) and big enough to fit everything I need. That's why I choose the bag. Check it out in Malaysia to see if it fits you tongue.gif

It costs me 35 AUD for the bag. SO if you can get a kata bag, you can definitely get the Edit 100 laugh.gif

That's 300 bucks under cheapest market price.

Do you think it's possible?

You know ... these cameras have their depreciation rate as well.
If you buy now ... 3 months later it's going to worth 1200 ...
But what have you done over the 3 months (or the extra RM 300 you spent)

1. You've learned how to take shots
2. You've enjoyed the camera ...
3. And etc
Worth the 300 bucks I think ...

Leaving that aside ... what you're more worried of is after 3 months you bought the LX3 at 1200 bucks. What happens is, a month later after you bought your camera, some better cameras popped up ...

THat's the last thing I want to happen to me laugh.gif

BTW Here's a question. How do I snap sharp pictures in low light?

All the pictures I have when cropped 100% would look blurred with noise even with ISO80.

However my cousin's NIKON shoots clear images even at night, EVEN with lower maximum aperture.

What's wrong ?
