They better not throw too many villains into DKR, and I hope the Robin rumour is not true!

This is probably after the Justice League movie which is well suppose to come out in 2013... Because they think that Justice League's Batman =/= Nolan's Batman... laugh.gif

so whats next in the 'to Reboot' list? star trek? james bond? transformers? biggrin.gif

but i think its a good move to reboot also, since Nolan is not directing anymore, i dont think bale wanna return as batman without nolan directing, so better if just reboot i guess.

n Nolan is still producing future batman films too thumbup.gif

Well, if the so-called next "reboot" of Batman films takes place like maybe 5 to 10 years after Nolan's trilogy, sorta bringing it "closer" to the impending Justice League film, I guess that would be nice... unsure.gif

'The Dark Knight Rises' officially adds Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt to cast

user posted image

Warner Bros. has announced the official casting of Oscar winner Marion Cotillard and Joseph-Gordon Levitt in Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.

Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, described as “a Wayne Industries board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne [played by Christian Bale] resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.”

Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, described as “a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon [played by Gary Oldman].” Both actors appeared in Nolan’s 2010 smash Inception.

They’ll join Anne Hathaway (playing Selina Kyle) and fellow Inception alum Tom Hardy (playing the villain Bane), who were formally cast in January.

well, i can see the need for them to reboot batman. they're competing against the avengers movie from marvel. so in order to do a justice league movie, they need to turn batman into a different context - one where superman and other superheroes are believable.

in nolan's world, superheroes do not exist.

Oh Hey, Guess What? The Dark Knight Rises is Officially in Production

Just in case you weren’t convinced by all those set pictures and reports of Christopher Nolan and company already going around the world shooting scenes for the movie, I mean. Here’s the official word from Warner Bros:

QUOTE
Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises,” the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar® winner Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Returning to the main cast, Oscar® winner Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”) plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”) reprises the role of Lucius Fox.

In helming “The Dark Knight Rises,” Christopher Nolan is utilizing IMAX® cameras even more extensively than he did on “The Dark Knight,” which had marked the first time ever that a major feature film was partially shot with IMAX® cameras. The results were so spectacular that the director wanted to expand the use of the large-format cameras for this film.

The screenplay for “The Dark Knight Rises” is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is being produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. “The Dark Knight” is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

Shooting will take place on three continents, including the American cities of Pittsburgh, New York and Los Angeles, India, England and Scotland.

The Dark Knight officially rises July 20, 2012.
