Try the arrow keys in white (aka STAR and HASH keys in red) on both sides of key 0.

Suggestions:
1) I think you have to turn the phone off before you take out and put back the battery.
2) After you put the battery back in, PRESS and HOLD DOWN the C button then connect the USB (SEUS will tell you when you can release the C button).

Ask the dealer nicely if you can have a look at another unit -- unless you don't mind the green tint.

1) There is a setting to change the contacts display order. Someone touched on this topic a few pages back.

2) "All phone contacts" means it shows all the contacts stored in the phone memory (does not include SIM). "all SIM contacts" means all the contacts stored in the SIM memory. So actually this is not "crazy". To get full functionality from your phone, you might like to copy all your SIM contacts to the phone itself, then use "phone contacts only".

3) If you have more than 500 phone numbers, you might not be able to copy all your phone contacts to the SIM (SIM limitation). If you don't, you're in luck! There should be an option to delete all contacts from SIM, then you "copy all phone contacts to SIM".

3G logo --> looks like white and blue cow droppings? It will appear if you are connected to the 3G network (meaning you can make video calls).

You can disable it by forcing your phone to connect only to GSM network (no video calls).

Check your browser settings that you have set to "display images: yes" or something similar.

Data streaming costs you 1 sen per 1 kB, which doesn't sound much. Until you look at it as RM10 per 1MB, which is A LOT.

Suggestions:
1) Use Opera Mini. It uses a proxy server which will "compress" the data sent to your phone (less kB you download --> less charge).
2) Change your browser settings to "no images" or "low res images".
3) Avoid connecting to internet through phone (using it as a modem for your PC) unless you're on unlimited data plan.

Yes. The simplest is to use SE PC Suite for your P1i. If you're using one of those bluetooth dongles with the right software (like a solar system -- blue background, orange ball sun -- i forget the name) you don't even need PC suite installed.

If you're asking about the Big Keyboard hack, it is actually meant for P990 users. What the hack creator did was take the P1i's onscreen keyboard and give it to the P990s (cos supposedly they have smaller ones). So what you did was replace your old onscreen keyboard with.... the same onscreen keyboard.


I have not tried it myself but my friend has. There was one time he hacked something wrongly and then he couldn't sync his PC and phone emails. So upset until he reflashed the phone firmware -- and it was good again. So in conclusion, I've seen it can be done.

Added on September 3, 2008, 6:08 pm2) If you view your picture through the File Manager, then you can't. What you actually need to do is Multimedie -> Picture gallery. Click on a picture, then tap the onscreen UP / DOWN buttons, or use your jog dial. Works in expanded mode too.

3) In my humble opinion, I think the fastest way is to update all the songs in your phone (More -> Update music), then play the songs under Tracks. You can select the first song to start playing, then it will continue in sequential order (you can randomise the play oder too). So unless you want to choose the order of your songs in particular, you shouldn't need to always press the back button after each song.

Open your Music Player, then the bottom right soft key is More.

Ah FYP... I remember my FYP days. My supervisor pushed me and a classmate so hard he was asking for our final reports on week 8 (out of a 12-13 week semester). Some other classmates hadn't even started on their report at all then.

Instead of doing that from the file explorer, try opening your Music player from main menu -> entertainment -> music player. Then you will find the More soft key.

I can tell you that AP or ori phone, both also can update with SEUS (update by connecting to your PC), hack, mod, install stuff etc etc. Only difference will be the warranty offered and of course, the price.

My boss used to have a HTC Touch. I see him use it also I feel pening for him.
