Ah. After some checking I can now guess why the V3 link didn't work. The full URL was "short-form"-ed, ie:
the actual path "http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1211192682/Update_Service_Setup-2.8.5.12.exe" became "http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1...up-2.7.12.4.exe". Since that page doesn't exist, of course people will get a 404 error. |

Been looking around at other phone threads (curious ma). Congrats and kudos to all participants of this thread, I feel this is one of the most helpful threads in comparison. Got good guides, FAQs and links on the first page + questions are generally answered quickly by someone or other.
