Hm. Strange. Maybe I made a mistake, but I believe I saw a demo unit in a shop that was supposed to be the 1 HP GVM version. I could not see the sensor there. But I didn't check if it was the non-inverter version, so maybe that's the reason...

Hi,

For Daikin the Intelligent Eye function is available for Inverter series.

Intelligent Eye prevents energy wastage by using its infrared sensor to detect human movement in a room. When there is no movement, Intelligent Eye increases the temperature by 2degC to give energy savings. This reduces energy wastage if, for example, you forget to turn off the air conditioner.

Normally how many degree at living house can feel comfort?

Hi,

You can use rule of thumb just simply use the total square feet of air-cond serving area X 60-70Btu/hr.
10,000Btu = 1HP...

Very noisy mean like a machine vibrating sound?
I can't set specifically for the guest room as I wish to use it as I wish to use as my activities room (surf net, listening music and exercise room.

What's in my mind is i can use the portable aircond so that I'm more flexible to it where I can use in my dining place and main hall if guest come or hot.

Any suggestion or I just install one first then only decide later to install in other places. I just wonder if I wanna install couple if a/c, I believe I have to change the whole electric box to cater higher power in future.

Hi,

Portable air cond is good for the sake of you can locate the air-cond wherever you like BUT dont forget there is a discharge hot air behind the unit that you need to transfer it out using the provided flexible hose. If you not doing so the hot air will circulate with the cold air hence you will not get the coldness and also waste electricity bill.

Hi Guys,
My masterbed room was installed with 1.5hp piping already, mistaken by contractor. But the room is small, 1.0hp should be enough. So my question is can I still go ahead with 1.0hp aircond ? Or must stick to 1.5hp only since piping is 1.5hp?
I can see the copper pipe is bigger than 1.0hp piping in another room.
Also, 2.0hp piping, can I install 1.5hp aircond ? THKS !!! urgent, need help !

Hi,

If you installed non inverter unit should be fine. But for inverter recommend to follow back the manufacturer design copper size.

If not u will face not cold or refrigerant noise problem.

Regards
Pang

Haven't had my Daikins breakdown on me yet... these days Daikins are all export quality as they are sourced from Thailand so I seriously doubt their build quality can be worse than locally assembled Yorks or Panasonics. I know some aircond installers grumble because the compressors are freaking huge. Also the wiring is different from other air conds and in theory should be less prone to the PCB frying compared to York. Another reason some air cond installers may not like Daikin is that usually these are serviced directly by their own technicians so less chance for outsiders to cari makan from them....
So far in use I find they are extremely quiet so no complaints so far. However if you are the super impatient type who wants the aircond to blast cold air at you the moment you switch it on, please don't get Daikins: Daikins take their own sweet time to power up.

Really good statement. Myself is an air cond contractor. A lot of contractor dont like Daikin because they do not know the correct procedure to install. Once they not installed properly such as wiring connection wrong or didnt vacuum the system then they will end up having problem.

A lot of people keep on mention Daikin wiring is different perhaps do you know why it is different? As for Daikin unit the incoming supply is directly to outdoor unit instead of conventional to indoor unit, this is because the load is high on the compressor hence they design the incoming to outdoor.

my contractor installed 2.0HP aircon inverter pipe for me.
can i install 2.5HP aircon inverter seriously?

Hi which model you want to installed. For your info most of the hp is using different copper size. If you under size the copper you may face not cold and also shorten unit life span.
If you oversize it may also coz not cold and sometime you will heard noise in the copper.
