haha..we(at least for me and my friend) typical Malaysians just simply don't know how to appreciate it. I'd prefer the dishes in bigger portions and less fancy. Well, its Lafite..I guess they can't really do that. Any idea if Frangipani/Le Bouchon does otherwise?
*
If bigger portion, how do you want to eat all 3 or 5 course? Their portion are just right. Frangipani are more serving authentic French. I don't have idea about Le Bouchon.

Well I kinda like Damon's style.. a bit of molecular gastronomy.. haven't seen it anywhere else in Malaysia. Was introduced to the concept when I saw Anthony Bourdain do his show on Ferran Adria's El Bulli, and managed to snag a taste from a former student of Adria's at Bacchus in London (restaurant has since closed). Lucky for me Damon is here in KL at Lafite.
*
Based on your experience around the Europe on molecular gastronomy and fine dining, how would you rate Damon and Kevin works?

We'r paying mainly for the presentation and all the fanciful fusion works..not practical for most people who want to taste really authentic stuff like ratatoiulle...etc. just my 2cents.
*
Its deconstructive culinary tongue.gif

Quote from Ferran Adria

QUOTE
Ferran is at El Bulli every single day that El Bulli is open for business. That's 160 days a year. He said some people think he's not there. They only open for dinner and they serve 50 customers every night. There are around 70 people who works at the Bulli and 40 of them are chefs that prepares the food for the diners.
Every diner gets a personalized menu and the serving chit that's marked as the food gets served at the end of the meal.

Putra man ... I lost my starwood coupon book ... don't ask me how but I fooking lost it and I have no idea where it is, lol. Free night hotel stay, the 3 free dining for 2 vouchers, none of them used yet ... so sad sad.gif
*
Goshh.....Try to speak to your sales representative. See what can they do about it. You should recover at least your free night stay. If your sales person are not good, speak to their manager.

Went to Soi 23 at Pacific Regency 2 days ago.

Ordered green curry, deep fried seabass, kailan ikan masin, choc banana milkshake, and rich choc cake, with fried fish cake and some stuff popiah like thing for appetizers.
I have big appetite eh?

The price is surprisingly cheap but the service is good.
The food is just okay.

Parking is 10 bucks per entry sad.gif

managed to find my coupons. they were in my laptop bag doh.gif ...

anyway what exactly is Malay fine dining? Went to living room for their complimentary set dinner, and uh ... for $98/pax the price I guess qualifies for 'fine dining' level but the food is uh ... the quality/taste was great, but the style wasn't much different from uh ... those Malay nasi campur shops ...

Goshhh....It looks Rm10 set dinner at stall tongue.gif Why don't you opt for buffet? Lucky you got your booklet back. Malay fine dining usually pretty well managed and good looking restaurant with Malay classic dish like petai, bamboo shoot.

MYR hehe, sorry. If don't count SP discount is RM107 per person for 1/2 starter, pasta and dessert, with no wine = that is expensive to me when the food wasn't anything fancy.

SP got 3 hotels with 3 italian restaurants mah, so have to try. Food-wise it's Prego > Favola > Villa Danieli (my opinion lah). But decoration/ambience wise VD blows the other two out of the water.
*
Prego Bubbly Brunch = Great. I would like to try those Favola and VD, but currently very full of Italian.

Agree with you Essence's food is nothing to shout about.

Wonder this 'Touch of Thai' thingy good or not.

look here http://www.timeoutkl.com/food/promotions/A...of-Thai-Essence

RM98 per person. Starwood Previllage discount applies rite (2 person dine, 50% off)?
*
Yeah I know the promotion. The flown 2 Thai Chef from Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok for this occasion, you should try it and make a review here. Starwood get 50% discount if dining with 2. Lunch RM78 while dinner RM98 or RM128 wine pairing.

As expected!! Essence never served any nice buffet. I tried their Spanish theme last month, end up disappointed and I don't have the mood to update here.

Guys, any idea how much would a meal be at any of these three restaurants and out of the three restaurants, which would you recommend?
*
Those 3 restaurant are on 6th floor: premium dining. Depend on what you want. All are good and expect to pay like deodorant said. I like the dish in C Club plus setting are nice.

Hi,

Besides the Starwood Privilege card, are there other similar schemes? The Starwood one sounds great but is obviously limited to Starwood hotels/restaurants in KL (if they include most of their vouchers for other places in Malaysia, I would go for it!).

Hope someone can let me know as I have plans to dine out and stay in hotels a lot in th next few months!
*
Out of Topics :

Renaissance has better coverage. Starwood can be used in Asia, not limited to KL only.
