Hi, would table reservation usually incur any hidden charges?
No. A restaurant manager would need to be crazy to charge you for reservations.

Strictly speaking, practically all more romantic restaurants serve alcohol and therefore wouldn't be Halal.
Cafe Cafe KL (french-ish), La Fite (french), Sage@Gardens (western), nero vivo (italian), prime@le meridien (steakhouse) are a few nice ambience places off the top of my head. QUOTE(koreng @ Jun 6 2011, 12:46 AM) or VIP Fine Dining at Ampang Milano Italian Restaurant. less than RM200 Added on June 6, 2011, 12:48 amNO WESTERN, LOCAL cuisine please. You can do better than that ! Congrats mate I don't understand. Are you asking him to go to an Italian restaurant ... and then telling him not to eat western but local instead? |

QUOTE(Desvaro @ Jun 11 2011, 01:06 PM) If you mean Favola at Meridien, I went there about a month back. Food was nothing to shout about to be honest, Villa Danielli has much better food. When did you go? I've gone to VD twice a while ago and both times I thought the food was below average (for the price). I hear that they've changed chefs a few months back though. |

QUOTE(Desvaro @ Jun 12 2011, 11:04 AM) Went there September last year. One thing's for sure, they've been having consistency issues with their food, one year it's good, one year not so, I don't know. The ambience is pretty much unbeatable though. I went once with my gf, thought the food was suck. Went there again to use the starwood group dining voucher, all 9 of us thought the food was also the suck. Hehe. Agreed on the ambience though, especially with the live music. Anyways specific to starwood italian hotels, my preference is prego >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> favola > vd. prego also partially becos of cost. 2 ppl with starwood can eat kau kau for rm30+ and then go pavilion watch movie |

must have piano means severely limited in choices liao. off the top of my head i think villa danielli in sheraton imperial should have either a piano or at least a keyboard. ambience is top notch, food (imo) is subpar.

Short answer: None.
Long answer: Unlike western countries, hardly anyone knows how to ballroom dance here, so therefore none of the restaurants cater to it. If it's not ballroom dance you're looking at but instead just some hug hug sway sway to the music kind of thing, hmmmmmmmmmm ... again I have to suggest Villa Danieli (sheraton imperial), because they have live band plus a small dance floor. If you want a more fast paced after-dinner dance, go to Qba (Westin KL), their DJ plays some nice latin music, and there's also a small dancing area. In both cases get ready to be the only ones on the floor though, unless by coincidence there's a bunch of angmoh's dining there. |

@nicv imo, go try el cerdo. it's a spanish-ish place specializing in pork dishes. order a half suckling pig, the pig comes and then your gf will get to chop the pig with a plate, and then smash the plate in a bucket (it's like for good luck or something). fun experience! under 100 per person.

QUOTE(kev_sensei @ Aug 3 2011, 03:17 PM) Hello food lovers! I'm actually planning to have my anniversary next week Sunday at Elcerdo. Is the environment really nice? Any other place to recommend? it's got nice environment, but it's "lively" rather than "romantic." it's a cute experience for your gf/wife cos if u order 1/2 suckling pig, she gets to chop the pig with a plate and then smash the plate in a bucket. as u can imagine, it gets pretty noisy all round with ppl smashing plates all over the place. i like it though. |

QUOTE(yumi.mei @ Sep 2 2011, 05:06 PM) is Villa Danielli opened on sundays? well website seems to say that it doesn't http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/pro...?propertyID=129 surprising though, i'd imagine that hotel-based restaurants should need to open 7 days a week. |

you paid without finding out how it works?
All restaurants in those 3 hotels (westin, lmkl, sheraton imperial), only you eat free. that means 1-2 pax = 50% off, 3pax = 33% off, 4pax = 25% off. they won't allow you to use multiple cards per table, so the best is to go eat 2-3 pax only. there are certain times/promotion periods where you can't use the card. (if you go eat in group ... use the group dining 50% off vouchers lor) |

QUOTE(Kelv @ Nov 23 2011, 10:36 PM) Need suggestion. Fine dining places, around the same range like Victoria Station. Boss, your understanding of "fine dining" a bit ... different than what's generally accepted. QUOTE(jc.low @ Nov 30 2011, 04:33 PM) You planning on dining on Christmas Eve / Christmas Day? Or just a normal weekday/weekend night? Cos most places inflate their prices like mad for "special occasions." Added on November 30, 2011, 6:19 pmAnyway, Cilantro. Yay / Nay? It's KL's only entry in the Miele Guide's Top 20 in Asia (#6). Degustation is rm300++ though, and the set dinners at 220/245++ aren't that much cheaper either. QUOTE(Kelv @ Dec 2 2011, 05:27 PM) In Malaysia, I don't need/want to spend so much for the "fine dining" here after my experience in Nero Teca. What happened? I hear good things about the Nero XXXX group of restaurants leh (but somehow never gone to eat at any of them before). Added on December 5, 2011, 10:47 amWhen you eat in a fine dining restaurant, and there's a group of people there making a HUGE noise (as if they were in a sports bar) ... shouldn't the wait staff go and tell them "Hi there please can you STFU?" Cos I went to Cilantro (degustation is rm348 after service charge / tax). Food was good but the ambience/experience was ruined by an extremely boisterous, rowdy, and loud birthday group ... I thought the staff would have asked them to quiet down but could this have simply been unrealistic expectation on my part? Blogpost here for the dinner otherwise ... just see pictures! ![]() This post has been edited by deodorant: Dec 5 2011, 10:47 AM |

QUOTE(luvimp @ Dec 7 2011, 05:30 PM) Usually at Cilantro they will provide them a room for any big group of people. Maybe u are just unlucky. Yes the group was in a private room, but with the door open, and even then they were making HUGE amount of noise |

Scoring is subjective. Like Marutama Ramen. I don't know about the KL one, but I tried the SG one and I thought it tasted like Maggi Ayam, but everyone else seems to think it's LE AWESOME RAMEN.
(I'm not alone in thinking Marutama sucks either, ieatishootipost, which is one of SG's top food bloggers/writers, also agrees) QUOTE I have been to Marutama on an earlier occasion and decided that I would not blog them because I came away wondering why so many people would line up for what seems to me to be a glorified bowl of chicken flavoured Maggi Mee? |
