Daorae is amazing, most authentic Korean restaurant in Malaysia. Puchong branch is the best no joke

I love Daorae too. Used to patronise the USJ Taipan branch until the Bandar Puteri one open. Anyway I feel that the Taipan branch seems better for the taste.

Pan Seared Aussie Shore Scallop
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Scallop on a bed of rich pumpkin puree, topped with aged balsamic reduction, tomato & avocado and garnished by alfalfa shoots & drizzled with truffle oil. Incredibly done but unfortunately the chef was making these in bulk which has made these dish turned cold when it was served. Pretty disappointing.

Rack of Lamb Tandoor Grilled
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Served with parmesan mash, sauteed spinach, green lentils, diced carrots & yoghurt mint sauce. Slight gamey taste which is pretty okay for me which at least I know I am having a lamb chop. Other than that was pretty normal as not much meat for me to chew on. Once again, the serve it in a bulk, the lamb has turned cold.

Andaman Sea Bream
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Covered with sauteed organic spinach, antichoke bottom, golden roast pumpkin, shimeji mushroom topped with crispy capers & lemon beurre blanc. This should be the best dish for that night. I light the crispy part on top of the fish. Nicely done crisp with soft and melty fish meat inside. Perfectly done. However, too bad because when they served this dish, it was already cold. Yes, they served in bulk too.

Miniature Lava Cake
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 2/5
Taste: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - I do not really know who the heck creating this lousy dessert. The apple and the cake do not seem to blend for me. Apart of that, the lava inside the chocolate cake already turned cold.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Very Slow
Recommended?: Yes, but never order a set meal.

Ahh time to revive this thread!

Let me tickle everyone's taste bud with this mouth watering desert I've tried at Quay!

This is one of the best desserts I had in my life..

It's called Snow Egg by Peter Gilmore!

Inside of the Snow Egg! Really a must try!

This is how he made it!!

By definition of fine dining! I believe both services and experience of food goes hand in hand!

Anyone tried this dessert before? biggrin.gif

any recommended nice & quiet fine dining for lunch or dinner in KL? preferably with piano, instrument band or nice instrument music playing in the background instead of pop musics.

It's been a long time since I last went, but Villa Danieli in Sheraton Imperial got a nice 3-piece "lounge music" (dunno how to explain lol) style band at nights, no idea about lunchtime, though.

As far as Japanese fine dining is concerned, this is as good as it gets.

Nothing else I know (as far as Japanese fine dining is concerned) comes close. Yeah, it easily puts Fukuya to shame

Expensive, though sad.gif ... rm300/pax for the kaiseki can already compare to Takashi Kimura's degustation at Cilantro ... hmm.gif

There's a few recommendations on www.SixCents.my if you are looking for fine dining options. If I'm not mistaken, Nerofico is currently offering Free Pizza for every 2 jugs of beer.

But it's really what you pay is what you get.

There was one time when I dropped my chopsticks while dining there, before I even turn to ask for a replacement, they replaced the chopstick for me.
Later that evening, my 4 months old took a poop and the waiters there were even helping my wife with the diaper change.

The food is top notch and it definitely comes with the kind of service you'd expect for the price they charge. I won't hesitate recommending this place to anyone despite the price.
